I don't mind John Cena's push to be honest
WWE created a star for the next 10 years. If they need to get people over 3 years from now, throw Cena in there. This is what the WWE's plan is IMO. Take one guy, make him unstoppable, and people will buy him as a main eventer 3-4 years down the road from now. They are setting up Cena to be like an Austin, Rock, Hogan type guy, who can come back like 10 years from now, work one match, draw a buy, and move on. Hey if it works, then more praise to them. They've got a solid top babyface for years down the road.

The biggest problem I have with this push is that no heels have been made to seem on even the same planet as Cena. I would consider Edge to be the top heel, but he's lost to John so many times, that he's not that credible to me. He's like HHH in 99 without a winning streak.

Orton is a lost cause. He gets hot, then they job him, then he gest hot and they job him out again.


I like Kennedy. but it was a mistake to feed him to Taker. That really hindered him to me.


Umaga was pushed to the top wayyyy to soon and then he jobbed out. He should of got the IC Title before the main event push.


They could of turned HBK, but I guess that's not happening. He already tapped out at Mania and is still working the DX gimmick, which kills him.


So yea, not a lot going on on the other side of the fence. Wrestling has always prospered on having a strong heel to defend or fight for the Title, but I don't see any. They got a chance to push Khali, who is my pick to take the Title from Cena, so we'll see where they go with him. And there is always HHH to turn for the 10th time.

We'll see.

Intresting point, but I honestly don't see a manufactured guy working the way Hogan does. I guess only time will tell.

I totally agree they need a top heel. Maybe HHH could do it, maybe...um, idk turn Bats heel, he could fill the void, I suppose. I'm at a loss for who could be a top heel without bringing in Nash.

Edge. You just need him to go on a rampage/streak. If Edge is booked as a top heel, he will be a great top heel.

Shit, the guys not even booked well and he still manages to be the top heel.

I don't like obvious choices. Plus Edge v Cena is kinda played out. Maybe in a year MVP could give Cena a top heel.

Paul Birchill could be a top heel, maybe Mark Henry. I'm with Batista to be a great heel, he's not the face underdog, he's suited as the big powerhouse, and powerhouse's are mostly heel. No one can work the mic like Edge though

Hogan started to hear boos in 92, but they kept pushing him. They being WWF and then WCW. It got real bad in WCW. It's hard to compare ratings between the Cena era and that Hogan era becuase there was no Prime Time program other then a SNME hear and there.

It's obvious what the WWE wants to do, but it won't work.

They could make Funaki their biggest star of the decade if they wanted to by giving him a winning streak and the WWE Title. It doesn't mean he'll make them a lot of money and get guys over.

I think most of the board that's worth having a decent conversation realizes what's going on, and by "we", I was basically talking about smart fans in general. It's not like it's a shocker what they're trying to do, but that doesn't mean someone should like him based on it, in my opinion.

Let's say Gene Snitsky all the same wins and whatnot, with them trying to build him up like that? Would everyone have to like him?

It's actually pretty funny about the way people poke fun at the boos but when it comes down to it a good portion of the boards cheer for the heels and boo the faces anyway.

Seriously, a lot of you guys seem to make out Cena was handpicked to be a main-eventer... even if he was, he was gatting amazing pops so he did deserve to get the top spot (at least briefly anyway)
