How many realistic big pay matches are there out there for Austin: Figure:
Orton vs Austin: Easy to set up and book, but probably not a big draw Same with Cena/Austin: Probably not the big payday Vince would be looking for There's one that works, (Hogan/Austin) but it doesnt seem likely |

I didn't mean to be an ass about it (not that you accused me of btw), but I just think Austin/Cena would be pretty damn big. But, if seeing Cena pin Austin is too much to stomach, then I'd go Orton/Austin with Austin getting a win in his homestate.

Hogan/Austin would be amazing (not match quality, but for the sake of a dream match). But, you figure if Austin comes back in Texas, chances are he won't be doing a job, so he will most likely face a heel that can recover from a big loss. So, Orton comes to mind right away. Maybe a few others.

The following is solely my opinion:
I think there's really only a few viable matches for Austin say he comes back and Wrestles at WM25. They are as follows: Orton Cena HHH HBK Hogan Orton: Again, simple to book, have Orton drop the belt Sunday and go legend killer. He goes off on the wrong legend at RR 09. Perfect setup, but big draw? Meh. Sets up Mania. Odds: long Cena: Also simple to book, probably would be booked as old school vs new school. But again, big draw. Meh. Odds: long HBK: This one actually could materialze imo. Have HBK come out and claim he made Austin what he is and have them feud through promos until mania. Draw? Could be big if promoted right. Odds: I'd say fair to legitmate HHH: Makes sense, could be done, but to me, not a big draw. Odds: Very long Hogan: The one that makes the most and least sense of all. Would draw massive, but I highly doubt Austin is coming out of retirement to job to Hogan. So it makes me wonder how possible it really is. Odds: TBD I think there's one candidate with odds of about 1 billion to one, someone blatantly obvious too The Rock. If Austin was gonna have one more match. Why not against him? Problem is, whether or not the Rock is interested in the big payday (I'd assume he doesn't need the money) I think it'd draw and the promos and match would be somewhere between great and amazing. Problem is, the Rock has stated 15 thousand times over he's done with wrestling. So all in all, I'm more and more convinced we've seen Austin's last match |

The only ones I like is HBK or Hogan as he doesn't like either of them. The others are boring.

Personally, I'd go with CM Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin in Houston. A heel straight-edge, "I'm better than you" CM Punk facing a man of his vices, Stone Cold Steve Austin, would blow the roof off the place.
I'm also thinking that next year will be the place The Undertaker's streak ends. After all, it's a the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania, and it's in Houston. As much as a lot of people will hate it, with John Cena likely heading into the event undefeated at WrestleMania (with a 5-0 streak), I see Cena defeating The Undertaker, and leaving WrestleMania 6-0, with The Undertaker's 16 win streak dissolved into his. It's never too early to start thinking about the next year's WrestleMania, and personally, those are two "special attraction" matches I'd like to see on the card. CM Punk provoking Stone Cold Steve Austin to get back in the ring with him, and The Undertaker putting his streak on the line against Cena's budding streak. Hey, at least it's not Cena in a title match. |

William Regal could have confronted Val earlier about his match against Snitsky being a career threatening one, because RAW is a brand for winners, and Val hasn't been doing much of that. Hey, just riffing off your jab. ![]() But seriously, I don't see why Val doesn't at least get to host crappy Diva search segments, or special guest referee matches like this BunnyMania crap at WrestleMania. Kim Kardashian could use a male host at her side who actually knows what he's doing, in case she loses control of a segment, or something. |

As for who could go in the Hall of Fame? I'm thinking Owen Hart would be a nice induction. Also, if Sting does not re-sign with TNA, I could see the WWE approaching him about going in, and maybe even letting him work a few matches.

Austin vs McMahon...one last time. They could easily build something between them, and it would work to get Vince off camera/retire if they did a stipulation where Vince had to quit
They've also teased a lot of Austin/JBL stuff over the past couple of years...that might not be too bad. |

The Rock. Pretty simple. We could sit here and dream up deam matches that we'd like to see, but fact is, Rock vs Stone Cold was always 5 star. And theres no reason to think it wouldnt be again, if they're in shape.
So yah. Rock Vs Austin |

Personally, it surprises me that the WWE never put the World Tag Team Championship on Austin and Rock. You know, in one of their "wacky, mismatched" tag teams. They were probably too big as stars to put in the ring together on a consistent basis like that, though. |

Is there anyone else other than Punk who's 'straight edge' on the roster? I mean, everytime ANY feud between him and another wrestler is mentioned it's always STRAIGHT EDGE vs RATED R/JESUS COMPLEX/PORN STAR/OVER EATER/MAN BOOBS.
Can we have STRAIGHT EDGE vs STRAIGHT EDGE at some point...maybe? |

Also, again, while I don't think he labels himself "straight edge," Paul London does not drink alcohol, apparently. The reason attributed to this (if you believe the sources) is that London has an older brother who was killed in a drink-driving accident. Assuming that London does not do drugs, that would technically give him similar beliefs to Punk. Oh, and apparently Matt Sydal, is "straight edge." |

Triple H also technically put Val over once. Whacked him with a steel chair, and caused the disqualification. The way it happened, I was pretty convinced it was a "thank you" win for the work he does.

Most likely Kennedy. Austin has been a mentor of sorts to him supposedly, so I can see an Austin-Kennedy feud

I was gonna say Austin vs. Kennedy, as Austin is kinda mentoring the guy
Also, Hogan doesn't deserve to work with Austin. It would help Hogan more than Austin. |

This is seriously the only match up I would like to see.
I wouldn't be happy with the outcome of Austin v Kennedy / MVP / Punk as I'm sure Austin would want to win his 'One More Match' and I'd see anyone on the current roster losing as a step back (knowing that WWE find it hard to make a loser look good in the process of losing). Similarly with Undetaker / HHH / HBK. If these guys remain active it's a pointless loss on their record. Whereas Vince v Austin only really happened once (St Valentines' Day Massacre, Feb 1999) as a match. Austin could get his win, doesn't matter that Vince loses. Put some kinda stipulation on it and we have a winner. Having said that...I wouldn't mind seeing Austin v Sting in a kinda WWF/E Icon v WCW Icon showdown. (Although getting Sting in will be difficult especially if you're gonna ask him to lose!) |

To be honest, I think Austin would do the right thing in this last match. I mean, as a mentor to Mr. Kennedy, he would surely put the kid over, right? ...Right?
I will again bring up that interview I read where Austin said that he could probably return full-time for two years if he felt the need to. While I am not suggesting that, maybe instead of "one more match," Austin could get "some last matches?" Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. CM Punk (Punk goes over) Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon (Austin goes over) Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Mr. Kennedy (Kennedy goes over) Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Shawn Michaels (Austin goes over) Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Sting (Austin goes over) Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. MVP (MVP goes over) It looks like a lot, but that's six matches. One every other PPV in 2009. While he realistically would not do that much, if his neck could take it, you'd have something pretty sweet. |

Ehhhh... It's really tough to pick somebody for Austin last match. Imagine if he never hurt his neck, he would probably still be in the main event at Wrestlemania... anyway I think his last match should be against Orton, I don't think anybody would benefit from it more.

Have a reborn Vince/Austin feud lead to the Austin/Kennedy match. That could be beautiful -- and I don't even care if he does have a "last match".

If Mr. Kennedy has a match with Austin, for some reason, to me, it just seems right that Kennedy defeats Austin with the Stunner, and then starts using it as his own finisher. It just seems to suit Kennedy, in my opinion.

Personally, I think the WWE might actually get Sting in next year. He's only taking it year at a time with TNA, and you hear rumours about each being his last year with the company. The WWE is still scheduled to give Sting's career the DVD treatment, I think, which is a good sentiment on their behalf. They could induct Sting into the Hall of Fame, and from there could convince Sting to wrestle at WrestleMania, and maybe work a few other matches (or even take up a part-time or full-time schedule with the WWE).
