Unforgiven World Title Match *RAW Spoilers*

I am torn on this Championship Scramble idea the WWE has created. On one hand, it's exciting, because of the sheer anarchy of the stipulation, but on the other hand, they risk turning their youngest World Title into a Hardcore Title knock-off with it.

For those that don't know, CM Punk, JBL, Batista, John Cena and Kane will compete in a 20-minute match where the World Title can change hands as many times within that period as possible.

The thing about it is this, the prospect of title changes is what the match is being sold on. If the WWE did the cool thing, and had CM Punk brave it out, then people would be disappointed. The WWE are also risking putting the World Heavyweight Title on John Cena for the first time ever in a match like this, something I think is a very big mistake.

That being said, what do you think will happen, and what do you think should happen? Also, would you like to see Chris Jericho added to the match given the end result of the show?

I think we'll be seeing CM Punk lose the belt, sort of get blocked out of all title changes until then, but then win the belt back to close the match. The WWE will be like "CM Punk walked in Champion! Now he's walking out Champion!" But Punk will still look heaps cheesy for losing the belt and getting made to look like a lower player during the match.

I would like to see Punk come in a one time champ, and leave a one time champ belt in tow. It'd be a great way to make him not look like the joke they've portrayed him as. Of course since they're making him a into a joke I suspect he'll lose in the first 5 minits and regain it in the bottom 5 seconds.

That is exactly what I think will happen.

Also, DaVe, that is something else I can see happening. I was going to mention it in my original post, but I decided to save my fantasy booking for a little while later. Right now, to be honest, there are a few heels I'd like to see as World Heavyweight Champion. No two stand out as much as Kane or Chris Jericho. Right now, Kane is the only one officially in the match. I'd like to see Kane win the World Heavyweight Title, and surely he won't leave with it, but at least it'd give him another World Title to his name. Plus, it would make Kane the first person to ever win the WWE, World Heavyweight and ECW Championships, which would make him look pretty cool, even if two of those titles were held for less than a day.

If Chris Jericho is added to the match, I'd consider putting the title on him. He's the only other man besides Punk that I could see leaving with it. Personally, I'd leave the title changes at that. Kane dethrones CM Punk after Punk takes a beating from everybody, and then Batista wears down Kane, but just as he is about to get the pin, Jericho swoops in, gets rid of Batista and takes the pin for himself. Then Shawn Michaels can come in, Sweet Chin Music to Jericho, and Punk goes over again. He would sort of look like a bitch like that, however, so have Punk get some big moves in on everybody before the match ends.

Yep, this is what I would do. Jericho wins the belt in the last 5 mins, then HBK comes in, SCM to Jericho, Punk gets the cheap pin, HBK and Jericho brawl to the back. Last couple mins is Punk fighting off the guys to retain the title at the time limit.

I think they should add Jericho to the match and have him cheat to win it in the last 5 seconds to CM Punk who held it the entire time.

This would add something else to the HBK v. Jericho Feud not that it needs it but it'd just make it a whole lot more sweet. Plus if Jericho has that he can be like "come on Shawn you can't resist one more shot at the title!"

I like the idea, but yeah it did scream TNA when I was watching Adamle announce it, and like everyone else says, if they don't recognise all the title changes then i'm fine with it. And personally I think Jericho should be in, because then you have an even 6 men so there's not one odd one out who does fuck all (why I hate triple threat matches) and also cause HBK won't be back for a bit yet i'm guessing, so what else is he gonna do?

They CAN make CM Punk brave it out and end the match with no title changes without leaving everyone disappointed. It would take good match booking, but it's possible.

I'm not liking it. Whether Punk walks out with the title or not, the idea of this match making "CM Punk 2 Time World Champion" or Batista "Four time World Champion" makes me cringe.

Maybe if it was like a 30 minute 5-man Iron Man match, and the man with the most pins wins. Or if it's a draw then the drawing contenders go into sudden death.

There is a perfectly acceptable match concept called Double Jeopardy that would work perfectly in this kind of situation.

I like the concept, but don't think they should have the title literally change hands with each fall so as to devalue it this much. Pretty much whoever gets the fall is "it" and whomever is "it" at the last bell becomes new champion (or retains). So if we do get a new champion at Unforgiven, the title has literally passed from CM Punk to, say, Batista... even if there were 8 pinfalls in the match, only the winner is officially recognised as having won the World title.

Plus 20 minutes is a strange length, half an hour may have been better.

Although I like the idea, and think it will be a fun match, it's kind of weird to see the World title being defended as if it's the oh-so-prestigious Hardcore championship.

Plus Punk has plenty of challengers to face one on one. This is the kind of match they throw together when you have a champion that has faced everyone to be faced.

They should basically count who has the most pins at the end to be champion. The thought of the championship switching about 2-3 times in one match would be kind of but if lets say Kane had 2 and Punk had two, then they could go to a sudden death and Punk can come out on top that way and look credible. Either Kane or whomever, but CM needs to not loose this title this night.

I don't have a problem at all with the idea, purely because everyone involved has already been a world champion, so none of them is going to suffer from having a gay-ass first reign. I DO, however, wish that they would have added a stipulation where only the man with the belt at the beginning of the match and the man with the belt at the end of the match would be considered recognized title holders. They're gearing up to make Bob Backlund's last run look like Bruno Sammartino this way...

Adamle did say the person who has the title at the end of the match will be reconized as the world heavywieght champion. So maybe they won't reconize the other title switched during the match.

That would be a crisper way to do things. But I think it leaves CM Punk open to looking like too much of a joke. I can just imagine every single guy in the match getting a pinfall before CM Punk sneaks one in and technically retains the title.

Then Batista pins Kane, and Punk follows that up by pinning Jericho. So basically for every time someone won the belt (which I could very easily see the WWE doing), Punk would win it back.

It'd be a cheap as fuck way of boosting the number of title reigns Punk has, but it'd get him up there in quantity, and the WWE would point out he was never pinned or never submitted during the match, and that he would make a fall whenever someone made their own during the match. It'd make Punk at least look like he can keep up with four other men.

I mean, I'd maybe give a run to Batista, a run to Jericho, and maybe two to Kane (just because I'm a mark for him, and so that they can have Punk pin him after pinning someone else the first time -- it also roughs up the match a little). So that's make Punk a five-time World Heavyweight Champion after the match, which is ridiculous, but hey, it seems the WWE is these days, anyway. It's also not like the WWE will be doing these matches every week. Count CM Punk's ECW Title reign, and he's a six-time World Champion. He suddenly looks a lot more matured. Batista, Kane and Chris Jericho are also four-time World Champions leaving the match, which helps boost them up a little. Punk also ties Triple H's record for most World Heavyweight Title reigns via this.

Then Punk could lose it to, say, Randy Orton when he returns, and it wouldn't matter as much, because the reign would be far from his shortest or most delicate.

Ummm... the only person that will be credited with a "notch on the title list" will be if a new champion comes out of it at the end of 20 minutes.

They will not count all the changes in between the match. Adamle even said it during the interview.

Personally, the only thing I dislike about this match is that Jericho isn't involved. He goes over CM Punk on RAW and isn't even included for this match? COME ON. I know they announced this before his match with Punk, but still.

Also, they need to get JBL out of the damn picture. I am tired of him stinking up my TV. He must be blowing everyone in the company to still be getting this many title shots.

I'd or Cena and CM Punk. Show them talking in the weeks prior, looking like they hate each other. Then toward the end they both leave the ring, grab chairs, look at each other and look like they are gonna smash each other with them but instead hit everyone else and then both pin at the same time in the last 3 seconds so that they have to have a match at survivor series or something.

The more I think of it, the more I LOVE this idea.

There are 12 PPVs a year. My thought has always been that if you're gonna have major matches at every PPV, feuds are gonna get stale VERY quickly. But you HAVE to run major matches every PPV, or else no one is going to buy them.

I actually like the idea of throwing intriguing multi-man matches on the non big 4 PPV to keep the big 1 on 1 matches for the big 4. That way it keeps the other 8 PPVs worth buying for the sheer craziness of the matches but it still keeps the option open to save the one-on-one matches for every 3 months or so.

Just a thought. Don't even know if it really made sense...

I like the way they have begun to build bigger feuds. I think wwe have fucked themselves over by giving the audience too many ppvs. And now they can't go back. Brand exclusive PPVs was nice, but the rosters weren't big enough on either brand and especially not ECW.

I like to imagine Cena winning the title at the ten minute mark and running backstage to grab an already made custom world title, only to lose it and have the belt revert back.
