Should here be more "other" atheletes in the WWE?
It's kinda a wierd question and I'm not talking about "The Goon" or Abe "Knuckleball" Shwartz but do you think that maybe they should maybe look into other sports for new talent? I understand that for every Ron Simmons (former football player) there's a Giant Gonzalez (played basketball in Argentina), but would you like to see more actual atheletes not just "entertainers" in the ring? When you think about it most football linemen are around 290-330, they have that exlosive power off the line, and the average basketball player is upper 6ft mark or 7ft and they have great conditioning. Do you think that a guy like that could actually get over now?

Only if they do like Lesnar and angle and actually become wrestlers.

But then they really should be unknowns, since it bnever works when they are a famous athlete.

In all fairness I wouldn't call Adam Jones a "footbller turned wrestler". He hadn't retired from football and had little to no wrestling training. He was more a "Special Attraction" like Tyson or Mayweather. I'd never describe either as "boxer turned wrestler" not like Simmons, JBL or Mongo were "footballers turned wrestlers".

I don't really care what there background is. If they can work, talk and have mountains of charisma, sign them up.

I think Brian Pillman is the best cross-over Pro Wrestler of all time, but he was lucky enough to have the best teaching avenue. Where does a finished athlete go to learn this skill now? Florida just isn't Calgary. You won't be a worker to the standard of Pillman, being shown the ropes by Dusty and Mike 'did I ever tell you about the really short period of time Hogan looked up to me?' Graham.

What did Brian Pillman do before he wrestled? The Rock is also probably worth mentioning as a notable cross-over guy.

I'd like to see a martial artist or MMA fighter cross-over. Put whoever that guy is in a tag team with a formal football player, and you'd have an interesting cross-over tag team.

Personally I don't see Rock as a crossover. Yeah he played football at college level but his dad and grandad were wrestlers. For him it was in the blood to wrestle.
