Is it time for Big Show to hang up the boots?
Simple question, after watching Show's recient matches and I wanted to ask do you think it's time for The Big Show to hang up the boots and retire?

To be honest, I haven't seen many of Big Show's recent matches. But he is working with Jericho and a lot of other talented guys who know how to structure great matches. While I would probably consider stepping out of the business soon, and perhaps look to do some WWE Films or some other entertainment industry work, I don't think Big Show is necessarily crappy.

Sure he's a sideshow, but he's solid, I'd say he probably has at least another 5 years in him.

Not really anything in particular After. I mean, he's gotten a little saggy around the mid section then again he's getting a little older. He has been trying to vary his offence reciently (the cammel and cobra clutch, the boxing jabs, and the spear/ maul). Nobody can deny he has been one of the better big men in wrestling and I dont really see any newer young big guys being able to "fill that spot" if he leaves. I was just curious, would you like to see him stick around or is it time for him to retire soon.

One thing Show should be thinking about, is his health. It seems that whenever he leaves the WWE, he gets himself into fairly good shape. This has got to be good for his quality of life. However, when he's on the road, the dude packs on the pounds.
He might be better off leaving the WWE, getting himself into shape, doing some movie work, and then returning once in a blue moon for a random match here or there. |

Or just keep a better eye on his weight.

It seems to be something Big Show has trouble doing when he's got the WWE schedule, though.

He's one of the only main event guys who is willing to change up his style and attempt to entertain the entire fanbase. He's one of the only guys at the top I would fight to keep, and you think he should retire?

I'd actually really like to see him work with Shawn Michaels. They might have worked a few matches together, but I can't remember them ever having a proper feud. With DX and JeriShow now feuding -- some matches between the two on RAW would be vastly entertaining for me. Maybe because nobody gets thrown around like Shawn Michaels. |

I've always liked him. He seems like a nice guy, looking at his face.
Other than that, I think his wrestling skills are ok. If they want to get rid of a giant, fire Khali, simple as that. |

I think Big Show has a lot left in the tank. If he can monitor his weight I would say he has at least 7 to 10 years left in him

Yeah. Big Show is still the goods, though there might be considerably more "goods" then the past.
He adds a unique flavor to the show, and they really don't have anybody to replace him. Khali doesn't count. |

He is nowhere near his size that he was as ECW champ...he was about 75 more pounds AT LEAST then.

When he's on his own I find him pretty boring. I don't mind him with Jericho at the moment though. I hope he doesn't go back solo any time soon.

The problem is that Show is so big and such that it doesn't make sense for him to not be around the title picture. But also given how big he is, and how he's seen more as a "side attraction" than anything, this conflicts with booking ideas for him, and he becomes almost irrelevant, to a point. Paul Heyman is someone that always knew how to book Big Show. On SmackDown!, he had Big Show end Brock Lesnar's WWE Title reign in a fashion that made perfect sense. Heyman, playing Brock's agent, felt he was too much a force to be reckoned with, so he changed sides. Brock got screwed, but it was also Heyman saving face, and Big Show became the new "dominant force." On ECW, Big Show was not kept out of the ECW Title picture, but used his strength and power to draw a straight line to the top, where he became the ECW Champion in almost no time. To be honest, I think this is the most logical way to use Big Show. The only problem is that you have better workers at the top who get boring enough as it is. Show's size is essentially what works against him, as well as for him, in my opinion. There's no room for vulnerability, but for the sake of interest, there is vulnerability, and that makes it hard to really buy into Show at times. I'd still like to see an angle where Big Show jumps to SmackDown! and goes after the World Heavyweight Title, so he can be the first man to have ever been WWE Champion, WCW Champion, ECW Champion and World Heavyweight Champion. |
