We all love managers, right? So who would you like to see manage?

I was thinking about this today, so I thought I'd make a thread about it. The male manager has pretty much died out over the years, and we all sort of miss it. It's great for getting a guy who can't talk, or is unestablished over almost instantly.

Who out there would you like to see take the role of manager on?

Pfft

I love how, instead of thinking he quit the business, you think he might be dead.

That's the business for you.

And Striker was a good manager.

An odd thought but it would be interesting if JR came back after a few months and cut a shoot on how he was replaced by someone better looking with not even half the talent. How sick he is of the WWE trying to wash aways wrestlings roots as a place for real men to fight and get paid for it, and compete for championships so they can be called the best. These days it seems the better your tan the better your career is. Well I'm sick of it and you can't get rid of me and my legacy that easily....

JR then goes on to say he has purchased a managers license and your going to be seeing his face a lot more than you used to because he is going to manage some ugly bad ass guys to win every single title in the WWE. And who will be behind them? The man who lost his smile, Jim Ross. "The guys I have put together don't like each other, their not pretty, but they can kick your ass and you damn sure better bet that they will..."

He then introduces his new stable, Mike Knox, Dave Finlay, Shemus, and Festus walk out to the ring and thus WWE has a new stable and a new use for JR.

Honestly, JR was the first person that came to mind when I read this thread. He's done non-announcing things before and it hasn't been good and I think he's said that he doesn't want to do it. Next was Lawler. He could be a heel manager and a heel announcer and just put over his guys. It would definetly make him more interesting.

I really like this idea. I also think O.D.B would fit in perfect with this stable. They could be called "The Slobber Knockers."

As far as other managers, I think obviously The Million Dollar Man would be perfect. Thinking outside the box...WAY OUTSIDE the box...., I'd love for TNA to bring in Mike Tyson to manage Bobby Lashley. You could have Lashley get in a feud with Matt Morgan and have Morgan continually beat him, making him look like a pussy. Enter Mike Tyson.

"Bobby, you're supposed to be the only ligit tough guy in here, yet week after week you get knocked around like a little bitch by Matt Morgan. You need to become an animal! You need to eat Matt Morgan's children for breakfast and eat his wife for dinner!"

It could work out perfectly when Lashley actually has an upcoming MMA match and needs to disappear of TNA television for a while. They could just record video segments of Lashley actually training his ass off with Tyson providing guidance.

Then after winning his MMA match, Tyson/Lashley return to TNA Impact! with Lashley a mute monster and Tyson acting as his mouth piece. That way, Lashley's bitch ass voice wouldn't have to be heard on tv and they could lead to a rematch with Matt Morgan at a PPV.

Then if you want to get even crazier, have Kimbo Slice come to TNA and form a stable with Tyson and Lashley....

Could you imagine the ratings if a Tyson managed tag team of Lashley/Slice fueded with a Hogan managed Angle/Morgan team?

Add Bischoff with the Motor City Machine Guns and that makes me

It would probably be a fucking trainwreck, but it would be 1000x more interesting than anything else on TV right now in my opinion.

Ric Flair- The man still has some moves at his age, but I think at this point he could contribute more to the wrestling business as a manager. Put him with someone with little mic skills and excellent in-ring ability, and they will get over.

Roddy Piper/Hulk Hogan- see what I said about Ric Flair

Santino Morella- I think he could still make it as a wrestler, but his greatest tallent is really his mouth and charisma. I think if he lead a stable as a manager, it would be fun to watch.

Tommy Dreamer- IDK, I felt this way for awhile now. His career post-ecw has been very lack luster, but Tommy has always had some real emotional catching promo's. I think placing him as manager of some young guys could be a good idea.

No one really sincd WWE does not allow their talent to really ad-lib at all. Everything they say and do is planned and scripted. Managers don't have much value if they can't do things spontaneously.

If I could see anyone manage, I would definitely want Bobby Heenan to come back they way he was in the mid 80's to the early 90's. I know because of his health that it won't happen, but he was the best manager ever.

In TNA, I'd like to see Dr. Stevie take up the proper role of a manager. Next week on iMPACT!, Daffney is meant to be facing Tara. I'd like to see Stevie try and use his past relationship with Tara to talk her down, because Daffney is injured. It's all a rouse, however, to help Daffney get the psychological edge against Tara.

So Dr. Stevie could take on Daffney as a client. With Tara and Awesome Kong feuding, Dr. Stevie could also take on Kong as a client. Eventually Tara could even get her hands on Stevie, and beat him up in the ring, which the fans will love. If they ever bring in Kim Couture, have Stevie look like the kayfabe genius behind it.

Mick Foley is another guy that I think could step away from being an authority figure, of sorts. The man is a fantastic talker, and his new relationship with Abyss could become a mentor-student thing. It'd give Abyss a former four-time World Heavyweight Champion as a backer; which is a good thing for him.

In the WWE, even if not full-time, I'd like to see JBL "sponsor" some guys. He's so great at putting guys over, he could cut a promo about them every now and then, give him some money, and they'd look like credible threats, I reckon. Due to his position relationship with Charlie Haas, I could see Haas being one of JBL's sponsored wrestlers.

That Jim Ross idea is not too bad, actually. Ross managing Mike Knox and Finlay actually makes sense to me. For some reason, him being behind Matt Hardy also seems natural to me. Maybe they could bring up his past as the VP of Talent Relations, and the guys he signed to contracts could have soft spots with him?

William Regal would make an excellent manager, but I wouldn't want to see him step out of the ring just yet. When he decides to, I would be cool with it. Abraham Washington would be a fantastic choice.

I prefer seeing guys like Bobby Heenan, Paul Heyman, Jimmy Hart, Slick, and even Estrada over retired or semi-retired wrestlers as managers. There's always a bigger payoff when you see them finally get their comeuppance. There's also the possibility that this person could be a liability at ringside, so it introduces that element to the match.

I'm not sure why they don't do managers anymore. Probably because they just have guys who can more or less talk on their own. Khali is the exception to that, but his size and nationality aren't really replaceable.

When he retires, as he is rumoured to help Triple H run the company; he could remain on-air fairly consistently as a character. Managing some guys would be a brilliant way to use his credibility and charisma.
