If you were a pro wrestler...

I want to keep this as "realistic" as your imagination can be (yeah sort of a contradiction), but I'm asking if you were a pro wrestler, how could you see yourself wrestling.

Keep in mind physical limitations and so forth.

So I want to get things started off... I'm 6'2" 215-220 which is too small, esp for the style I'd like to work. If I were going to be a pro wrestler, I'd need to put on at least 15-25 more pounds. That means a lot of time in the weight room, a lot of steak and a lot of *cough* supplementing.

I'm pretty sure I'd do all that before I started training. Now I know my limitations, I am heavy as hell on my feet, I'd obviously work on foot speed but even then I wouldn't be fast, so I wouldn't be a "quick as a hiccup" type worker.

What I lack in speed I would hope to make up for in intensity. I would focus my training on being able to take bumps, and I focus on being able to do really basic moves, very, very well. I'm not talking about being like Maven and being able to do a decent drop kick and that's it, I mean being able to make my punches look good and my kicks look good. I could see strikes being a huge part of my offense. I'd be a pure brawling grinder. Lots of headbuts, downward elbows to the head and throat, big time forearms and a serious lariat etc. I could never see myself being a fancy workout, prolly wouldn't know a wristlock from a wristlock. I'd wanna sort of work like Stan Hansen (although I'd be too small) meets Mick Foley. I wouldn't do crazy high spots like Foley but a move like that knee to the face of a fallen opponent lying on the bottom turnbuckle is something I'd do. etc. I think one of my moves would be something as basic as a really intense turnbuckle throw, like throw the guy so hard I fall off my feet and he bounces off the turnbukcle.

I would want my matches to be as resemblant to a fight as humanly possible. I'd try avoid convential silly spots and I would want it to be a non stop brawl, and would wrestle extrmely physically, and very little aerial offense.

I think that's the best I could ever do if I were a pro wrestler.

I'm 5'9'' maybe 160 pounds..... I don't see myself wrestling ever..... but I definately could work the shit of the "cowardly, obnoxious, piece-of-shit heel" manager though

I figure my rugby background and tolerance for pain would allow me to be a decent brawler.

also if I got up to 230-240, it would give me more of a chance to "make it" although that is likely impossible anyways.

I'm 6'4, 220. I've always been a big guy, which means my speed has not always been that great when it comes to sports. Anytime I've ever had a play-fight, I usually use my size as an advantage, and if I can get on top of a guy, and get a strong headlock on him, there's nothing he can do.

Most likely my wrestling style would be similar to Andre the Giant, The Big Show, and Kevin Nash. Now I realize those three guys make me look like a little person. I just mean I wouldn't be flying and jumping all over the ring. I'd just be a brawler who'd go in there and punch and kick, and overall, my style would be a brawler. Even though I am a big Hogan fan, and I'm not trying to come across as a bias mark, but I honestly would include Hulk Hogan in that list of wrestlers. Stone Cold Steve Austin and Roddy Piper as well. It'd be a goal to wrestle like a young William Regal too combined with the brawling style. (I don't watch much wrestling now, so I have no clue how Regal wrestles these days, but I do know he use to wrestle like an amateur wrestler.)

I've always liked brawlers because they make wrestling seem realistic. Most real fights aren't guys jumping all over the place, looking fancy. Most guys that are legit tough guys that fight pretty much fight how you see guys like the ones I mentioned wrestle. And if I could make every match look like Hart/Austin at WM 13, I'd be a mega star. Because that match is a good example of what a real street fight between two legit tough guys usually look like.

6'1 185 pounds here. Still bigger than Colin Delaney.

Anyway, I'm very quick on my feet, but can't do a backflip. I guess I'd have to settle for "scientific" wrestling, Bret Hart-style, which is actually what I used to do when I wrestled. You never have to press slam anybody over your head, and lifting someone in a samoan drop, which probably be the biggest lift I would do, is easier than it looks. Lifted a 275 pounds guy once, although I just dropped on my back once he was there.

Otherwise, I'd have to learn how to flop around like Tyson Kidd or something. He doesn't do backflips, but he's always springboarding off the top rope and stuff like that. I think I could learn.

Im starting my training on saturday, actually. 6' 230 lbs, cardio sucks but i can lift guys around my size with little difficulty. This will be interesting....

Have you done research on them? There are far too many cowboys around that will 'train' people, when in reality they have no idea what they're doing and do more damage than good. And that's just over here.

I'd probably want to be a technical wrestler in the vein of William Regal or Nigel McGuinness (circa 2005 or so). I think I have a knack for it since I'm a Jui-Jitsu black belt and I'm trainging BJJ now. I always think while I'm grappling how I'd play it up to the crowd if I were in pro wrestling. One of my senseis has noticed this trait in me and admonishes me all the time.

I wish I were 18 and could give wrestling a try but alas I'm 27 and I'm sure I'm too old to do it now.

Probably for the best I don't want to be in terrible shape later in life, or god forbid dead.

impact pro wrestling, look em up. I went to one of their shows to scout them out a bit, and they had harley race scheduled to appear (his wife died the night before, so they got baron von rashcke instead). There were about 100 or so people in the crowd, and it got pretty insane. And alot of the guys on the roster were students there, so i'd say they at least have some idea what they're doing

Back when me and the guys tussled around in the backyard I had a technical style infused with RVDish 'tricky kicks'. I incorporated the F5 for the lulz. I imagine this would be my style if I was actually a pro wrestler. As far as theatricality goes, I liked 'back and forth' matches and didn't mind taking the fall to put guys over. I valued the actual matches over wins, glory for me was the 'oohs' and 'ahhs' of the watching guys - not getting the three count. I also over-sold like a clown; did a cartwheel to sell a heel kick once. Lot's of laughs.

I have a similar body type to Shawn Michaels (minus being ripped) and can kick pretty high. If HBK ever needs a stunt double for a Sweet Chin Music... I could do that? except that doesnt make sense and would never happen. Otherwise I would make a good camera man thats about it

Well I am 5'9" and I weigh about 170lbs.

So I've got about the same body as Matt Sydal, except he's more well-toned lol

Where I wrestle my style is pretty much perfect for me where I am an all around guy. I do some high-flying, and quick techniques. I also tend to be an innovative brawler, and use submissions as well. A lot of my style is based off examples such as CM Punk. Being a heel most the time though lets me be as dirty as allowed. So even with bigger guys, if I can find a way to catch them off-guard, I can take them down somehow. The only issue I see someone finding with my style is how my finisher, being the Pepsi Plunge, isn't logical for all opponents. I have taken care of that in various ways in my matches, be it, just do a pedigree, or do a submission. Other things I've done is use multiple signatures in the event of failed Plunge on massive opponent. Example: Should they ever go up top, rack them, and hit a suspension stunner. Then follow up with a submission such as the Figure 4 or .45 Special

From my 5 years experience in ring I'd say that no matter what size you are, your style is dependent on what you make look best and what your "character" represents.

Honestly, at 5'8 235 lbs, I have no idea how my style would be considering speed and agility are not my forte. I have brawling and I know submissions but that's about it. I have wrestled with my friends getting Pedigreed and chokeslamed only to get up like it never happened though it's really doubtful I could do that now.

I'm 6'0", 185 lbs. I actually do plan on gaining 15 more pounds within the next year and a half and then evaluating whether or not I want to pursue wrestling at all. My style would rely partially on my gimmick, which would be exactly who I would be in real life, a business man (I'll have graduated college by then) who wants to blow off some steam. (think fight club) So to begin with I'd want to wrestle much like a young Shane-O-Mack, inexperienced but willing to take a risk. I'd also be extremely quick, I was an all-state sprinter in high school.

6' 245ish lbs. I'd have to get my cardio better and tone up some but my style would be a combo of DDP and Bret Hart. In that it would be more scientific but I could brawl if need be with excellent crowd interaction.

From what I'm envisioning with what Dale said I believe he and I could have an excellent match (obviously after training). I actually want to start training to be honest, but there is only one promotion in this area of Virginia, and I haven't gotten a return email or call from them and they haven't had a show since mid September so I'm afraid they may have gone under. The only bright side is they do the same thing every couple of years over the winter so hopefully they will be back up running this spring.

I would definitely try adapt that Stampede style of wrestling. But I don't know if I'm athletic enough to every figure out some of that stuff lol. But I'd definitely love tohave that Stampede style of intensity. Thought I'd prolly be hooked on painkillers within a year lol.

Yeah, that would be awesome. But yeah I can't imagine straight edging with that style.

6'2 around 220 lbs. I would have to get toned up and get in better shape overall. We used to a backyard wrestling club when I was in high school. There was an old gym that had shut down b/c of bankruptcy and they had a boxing ring they were selling. Me and about 20 of my friends all pitched in money and bought the ring for $750. We modified it for our wrestling club and we put it in my backyard b/c my yard was the largest and my parents were the only ones who were cool with putting it out there.

My style was a brawler/technician combo. I would just need to work on some more submission moves to add to my arsenal. I would team up with DaveBrawl83 and we would become tag team champs in no time

6'0" 210lb. I would defiantly hit the gym hard to add about 20lbs of muscle to my frame. I would see myself as a technician/showman, sort of a mix between a Hart/Malenko and a Michaels/Flair type deal. I would work on perfecting simple yet effective moves, sort of a high impact/low energy type of offense. I couldn’t see myself flying off the top rope very often, but maybe dropping a few elbows from time to time. I would try to model myself into a gimmick as a “Natural” or a “Prodigy” type performer. I would love to play the part of a heel.

I am 6'2 and 180 lbs. I could add 15-20 lbs of muscle and give it a shot. I have thought about it a actually. I could be a fit in ROH or Chikara if I met the right people I think. However, I really don't know if I could take the bumps every night. I have hit the ring before, and it doesn't feel anything like you think it would. It hurt.

I used to be a wrestler. I'm 5'11, about 12 stone (dunno what this is in pounds).

I use to be a comedy type heel, kinda like Santino, where I'd run through gimmick spots etc to make the crowd laugh at me. I was mostly a mat/technical wrestler, although I had some high-flying etc but nothing fancy, so I would brag about being the best legit wrestler, and then of course cheating. I lost most matches though simply because a lot of guys were bigger than me and it'd look silly me beating them.

I was out of wrestling for a year or so, and came back wanting to be more 'legit'. I didn't wanna do comedy anymore, but wanted to gain some weight and become a proper threat, still a technical guy but just someone you'd believe could beat anyone (Kinda a cross between Chris Benoit and I guess Ken Shamrock).

Although that shortly ended as I didn't have the time or money to train anymore due to saving up for moving in the Summer. Did do one show with my new gimmick though and it went pretty well because my opponent was about the same size as me.
