Well, yeah. If he says negative things about the company who employs him publicly, he SHOULD be threatened to be (or actually be) fired. Especially in this business where kayfabe is still semi-important.

(KFM is 100% important, just wanted to clear that up.)

There's a slight problem with that, though. Some others have been vocal with MUCH less than a slap of the wrist. If people who had power and pull said the exact same thing, Vince would give that person one of the higher spots on the card. Carlito doesn't have much pull, so there you go.

Why don't they just fire him. It makes me sick that they bury/hold hostage wrestlers who they claim not to see anything in or have no desire to push, but the sole reason they hold on to or bury them is so they can't hurt them elsewhere. It's absurd.

I don't know. I suppose there'd be the no compete clause, or the stipulation that upon outright quitting without official relase by WWE the wrestler can't partake in another promotion, at least not a televised one.
There's so much red tape now around things. Wrestlers are literally kept hostage and are tied up for so long that they can be damaged goods long before they're free. It's similar to WCW in a lot of ways.

If Carlito just walked, he of course would have a no compete clause, and a MASSIVE fine for breech of contract. By the way, you don't bite the hand that feeds you. You don't trash talk your company publically and expect nothing to come of it.

That is true. I wonder what Vince's stance is on someone coming to him and simply saying, "I don't want to work for you anymore and wish to be released"
I know there was the whole Kurt Angle thing where he was released, but there were a variety of factors with that.

If i was Carlito, i'd stink it up so bad in the ring they'd have to fire me. If they put me on Heat, i'd actually go out there and put on the best damn matches possible just to spite Vince and if Vince gave me directions to not do certain things in the ring to get myself over, i'd do them anyways. I'd keep doing all this shit until he just didnt want to put me on TV anymore and eventually let me go.

Then again. Its just Carlito.

Vince is just dumb. Give the guy a push or something. Oh btw, didnt Matt Hardy have some choice things to say about the company when Lita was banging everybody but him and he was " fired " . Oh wait were suppose to believe that wasnt all just a work. Thats right. Forgot.

I don't see why they couldn't have just turned him heel and ditched the valet in the first place. It's what he wanted, and it's pretty evident that he works better as a heel than a face...why continue to fight him on it? He wouldn't have come out and talked more shit if they'd have just worked with him in the first place. I know he should have kept his mouth shut, but there's been reports about him hating his role for a while now...and it'd be an improvement over all if the bookers just went with the flow.

I guess what I'm saying is, why not try to make the workers happy instead of punishing them for being pissed? Within reason, of course, but turning Carlito heel is totally within reason.

Debate about whether he should've said it or not, but my opinion is, he has every RIGHT to be angry, and this HAS to be making TNA praying to GOD that he does get fired some they can have yet another good wrestler that the WWE fucked with.

Um....you can say what you want about his comments. Some of you have claimed that you don't bite the hand that feeds you. I've read that you're not supposed to talk publicly about your frustrations with the company. But, that's middle-management, bullshit, fear tactic, authoritarian propaganda.

If you've had a gripe for over a year, wherever you work, and the powers that be refuse to listen, then sometimes you need to take the spotlight and make a demonstration. Now, seems to me the things he's quoted on there really aren't that bad. I don't understand what the company's so up in arms about. But, if nothing else, at least he finally accomplished his goal: he got someone to listen -- and kudos for being man enough to stare Job Security right in the eye for faith in your personal beliefs.

one of the things is that Carlito is not just being bitter, he's also correct. They'e been building up Carlito - Flair for sometime now, and yet they had nothing on mania, thats just ridiculous. Also, flair is one of the biggest draws, yet they don't put him on the show.

Carlito should not be punished for saying what's correct

Flair is not a draw, he's novelty who's nostalgia factor is the driving force of his withering escapade so-dubbed "a career". I was happy that he was absent from the program.

And, as much as I hated Carlito's debut and the Nepotism treatment involved with his start, he needed to be part of the MITB about 50 times more than Booker Tedious.

I read a theory that this whole Carlito thing is a work, simply because Carlito seemed to be in character when he conducted the interview. Carlito would have to be pretty stupid to talk shit about the WWE while still employed. Of course they'd be backlash.

Anyway, the WWE should indeed turn Carlito heel, and have him go over Ric Flair at Backlash. Carlito has a bright future, especially as a heel. The WWE should just stop holding back their talent, whether it's making them play roles that don't fit them, or restraining them in the ring. When Carlito initially debuted, he got fun matches out of John Cena on SmackDown!. Considering everything else Cena had been doing at the time was flat-out boring, that was pretty damn impressive.

Afterlife is right. Flair's a nostalgic sideshow.

Also, yes, complaining about your company is a good way to get yourself fired. Doesn't mean I like it, but when you bite the hand that feeds, you shouldn't expect to be welcomed like a hero.
