It's Rocktober on WWE Classics on Demand. While watching, I really started to think, could The Rock, Stone Cold or DX - become the stars they are today in the new PG-13 era of today's WWE. Heck (PG-13), even John Cena really made his mark before the switch in format.

Not a chance. None of the stars from that era would've been as successful or popular without the writing/edginess of the Attitude era.

It has nothing to do with Edge and everything to do with writing. You can write compelling drama in a PG format, its just that for the most part, they don't nowadays.

Look at TNA...they have no rating restrictions, but their writing is crap.
