Might as well make this, seeing as how we have our first trailer.

As long as BioWare takes the customization back the way it was in the first game, I'm in.

Awesome, a year to wait.

I hated the customization in the first game anyway. Stupid as it sounds, it was too RPG like. Give me an RPG like story with choices and stuff sure, but I could do without fiddly inventory management.

Yeah, I loved the dumbed down version of it in ME2. Too much shit to deal with in the first.

Thirdededed

Less customization in the skills area was a bit of a draw back, but still not that big a deal. Inventory management was a headache in the first(as with most rpgs) so I'm hoping they keep the system from the second.

Also, I'm hoping they bring back the hovercraft from the dlc instead of that stupid scanning.

I figure I'd give this a chance.

Have you never played Mass Effect?

I wish it came out in summer Too long of a wait between DA2 and this.

Never. I am versed in Bioware's KOTOR series (which mostly laid the groundwork for Mass Effect and that 'Medieval Mass Effect'), but I wasn't interest in nether of their recent series.

Gonna give it a go with ME3. I was a huge RPG nut back in the day, but my interests shifted to multiplayer experiences. I'm much too harsh on single player stories that are expected to be taken seriously, so I avoid a lot of single player games and even modes.

Mass Effect is otherwise right up my alley and more than a few people were surprised I didn't play the hell out of it.

Shouldn't you start with 1 rather than 3?

This. Would be like watching Return of the Jedi first.

Seriously, if story is your big hang up, then you will be fine, as Mass Effect has one of the better storylines in gaming right now, but you really need to play the first two.

Fignuts 02:50 PM 12-12-2010
It's totally worth it, since you can get them both cheap. DLC is awesome as well.

Doesn't matter to me.

And I'm not the kind of douche who'll start at 3 and then bitch about not knowing what's going on. I do research. I wiki. No worries.

So you're THAT kind of douche.

Just start on 1 like any other normal human being would

What? No. You know how much Bayonetta I gotta play in the next few weeks? And I have to finish Reach on legendary and I clock in 2hrs a map on that difficulty. I have characters to unlock in KoF2002. I need to bust up the Pac Man DX leaderboards. Gotta get back into Red Dead. I'm out of practice in Super Street Fighter 4. Gotta go achievement hunting in Halo ODST for some damn armor locked in Reach. I have 4 more years worth of X-Files to watch and I still didn't find that Simpsons episode. I'm getting into Samurai Champloo again. I got Jackie Chan Adventures on the side. I started Spectacular Spidey a few weeks ago and I really like watching random movies in between.

Oh and I do school stuff and direct my team's various projects. Yeah.

Mass Effect 3 or bust on the series. lol

You've got a year to play 1 and 2. Much more fun than reading about the storyline on a wiki.

Particularly as stuff you do in the first two will influence what happens in the third.

The Mass Effect series is better than anything you just mentioned in that post. Seriously.

Normally this wouldn't be so bad, but Mass Effect really needs to be experienced. I'm sure you've read about it, and you think you know what you're missing, but don't. At least not fully.

Just seems like crazy talk to those of us who have played it, and no how retardedly good it is.

I mean it's been touted as arguably the best series this generation.

Playing the first two to get to the third may not matter to you, but it couldn't hurt to try, could it? Especially since like I said, you can get them mad cheap now.

God damn you Fignuts. You'll pay for this.

This is gonna require a new approach. I rarely play catch up with games like this.

No promises, though. Not unless you guys wanna spend 20hrs in Bayonetta to see why the engine is genius.

I remember having to forego video games to catch up on my cartoons.

Come on, do it. Watch yourself get attached to whatever brand of space adventurer you decide to make Shepard and his motley crew.

Yes they are RPGs but even with all the side quests it won't take up as much of your time as most games from this genre.

So don't worry about that. Won't interfere with your BUSY BUSY schedule that much.

No, no, NO.

Start with ME1.

No. Play 1 first. You can probably get it for less than 10 bucks at this point.

The games are good enough to stand on their own, but are really meant to be experienced as a trilogy. That's why your decisions carry over from one game, to the next. Also, Bioware is known for the rich mythology they create for each game, and it's a lot to take in if you are starting on two.

Exactly.

Plus if you managed to have sex with someone in ME1, it'll make running into them in ME2 (or NOT as the case may be) that much more satisfying.

I feel like I shouldn't even be having this conversation with you kalyx.

I feel like this is the conversation I'd be having if I was reccomending ME to a bro gamer. Because this is the kind of crap they pull.

Why is this even an issue with you Kalyx? You are a gamer. You should be thrilled to get to play one of the best stories in gaming.

No. Fringe is mentally queued up and you don't wanna know how the list looks.

We're meeting halfway here. Starting at 2. It's here and everything.

None of you are on the Crazy Taxi leaderboards. Don't know why I know you people sometimes.
