No question about it, the Pats from what I've seen and heard got pushed around.

The OL was spun like tops, Gates and Tomlinson did what they wanted, when they wanted.

Looks like the injury bug something thats pats have fought through before may be too much now.

Bruschi, Harrison, Light.

It's still early.

That being said, there's no denying that the charges were a "paper team" last year.

Are they different this year? dunno, we'll see when the seasons over.

That was last year. I say if they beat the Steelers, by whatever margin they may be pretty serious this year, at least for a return to the playoffs.

BTW i never said it was Brady's fault. I just said everyone is saying he's the best in the game and he's one of the best ever and shit. No one will be saying that atleast for this week. I mean i'm glad we award people the Best in the Game title for doing what he was suppose to do which was make reads and complete the passes to the open WR's . He did nothing special against the Steelers. He did what is expected of him and any other QB in the league. He completed his passes and got his team in feild goal range. He's really good. He's great. Best in the game now or ever? I dont know.

Make reads and complete passes? ok, then what else is a QB supposed to do?

Maybe, stay calm under pressure?

Maybe, have 2 last min drives in the biggest game of the year?

Oh and against Pittsburg, 4th qtr he was 12/12. Yeah, that does mean something in the 4th qtr of a big game when your team is down.

Best in the game now? Sure, till someone else does what he does on a regular basis.

Best ever? Nope, not yet. Of course everyone is already comparing him to Montana the same way they're comparing Manning to Marino, and the question is always asked between Montana & Marino who was the better QB, one broke records, one won games.

Anyways, we all know where you were trying to go with this, so I'll leave ya alone.

I could have swore that you've told me in the past that regular season games dont mean a thing. In fact maybe later when i'm not working i can dig up those infamous qoutes. I think you even said they werent big games, because i was talking about Pats vs Colts November 7th... Now all of a sudden this is a big gam huh? I mean it is , but according to your logic in the past this wouldnt be a big game.

This argument about Brady being the best ever or whatever spawns a better one. Should there be different categories for best ever? At the quarterback position you have the guys who can pass and pass and score touchdowns. On the other hand there are guys that flat out win games by any means necessary. Another example at running back, you have the pass catching backs, the 30 carry a game RB's and the balanced RB. Is it fair to simply dub someone "best" at their position or should it be broken up?

I think when you are talking about a person who may or may not be the best at there positions. All team accomplishments should be thrown out. Superbowl rings ect. How do you say Brady is the best QB in the league because his team was amazing and won 3 rings. Not saying he didnt have a hand in that, but still. I think you judge the best by what he does. Not his team. Brady is one of the best. Honestly. I think him and Manning are neck and neck now. I would have said Manning no doubt last year, but i was impressed with Brady vs Pitt and i've been very impressed with his skills.

LT is clearly the best RB. Its no doubt. He doesnt have to have rings. Its so obviously clear. Alexander is a short second, but he's no where near as good as LT is.

12-12 was good. That was special considering the circumstanceds, but it was nothing to boost him over Manning as the best in the league. Just put him neck and neck i think. If Brady would have did like Manning did against the Chargers last year and send the punt team back off the field and convince the coach to let him run the 4th down play at there own 20 with the game on the line and complete it, then go down and get the TD. I might consider him as good and maybe better.

I'm starting to think that until Manning wins this ring this year , its near impossible to compare the two because no matter what gets said, the whole rings argument gets brought up.

I think as far as game mechanics and taking charge of his team Brady has every one upped. In Manning's case he is brilliant, audibling and has the ability to torch any defense in the league. They're totally different players so its tough to say if one is hands down better than the other.

But how does one do that?

Do you take away a QB not getting sacked because that's his OL/FB blocking?

What about completion %, shouldn't that credit go to his WR's?

As for the "big game" thing, There are regular season big games, the Pats lost one to Pitt last year, and then beat them in a bigger game (AFC Championship!)

Also, I didn't bring up the Pitt game this year to say why Brady is better, I brought it up because you said

I don't hey it... LT mushing tom brady in a wheel chair down the stairs?

Maybe a defensive player would make sense or LT walking over the pats LB's... that would make sense.

The Colts are gonna lose too when they play the same teams the Pats lost to in a few weeks. This should allow Jacksonville to sneak into first in the division.

I have a feeling you will feel like the biggest douche bag on this board when this football season is over. That is if you dont already.

Why? because you keep trying to turn every post into "Manning is god?" or because the Colts Offense has chocked in big games?

No, when the season is over and the Colts still don't have a superbowl ring it will make little difference.

Really, I've said it before I'll say it again. Manning is a great QB and I don't hate the colts, but you're such a fucking idiot that it make me want to see them get their asses kicked in every single game.

Seriously, wrap your hands around your neck and pull as hard as you can and see if you're head pops out of you're ass.

What's going on in Appleton?

APPLETON(AP) - A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a Appleton, Wis.
courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who
should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his
parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping
with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be
maintained to the degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he
proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly
refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with
his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After
considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that
domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took
the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have
custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child
welfare
officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Green Bay Packers,
whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

In a different note, whats up with Tom Brady getting all up in arms with Shottenhiemer? He said that injuries and losing players is eventually going to catch up to the Pats and Brady came back like he just told a joke about his mother.

Its true for every team, when your top linebacker and defensive back is out, you lose a pro bowl safety in the offseason, and get smacked around, you don't have to get offended when somebody answers a question about you. Its reality, deal with it.

LOL saw that exact same thing with the Arkansas football team.

Green bay:

Lost by 14
Lost by 2
Lost by 1
Lost by 3

Minnesota:

Lost by 11
Lost by 29
Won by 17
Lost by 20

I wouldn't be talking much.

I think Brady was trying to give his team some added motivation. Kind of the whole "us vs the rest of the world." Its kind of funny that the 2-time defending Super Bowl champs are being looked at as underdogs.

Unless I am looking at the context of Marty's quote wrong, it sounds to me like he was just stating the obvious, that the Pats can't live on the line like that forever, eventually the random guy from Witchita State who they picked up on waivers from the Austrailian Rules Football league isn't going to blossom into a Pro Bowler. It didn't seem like he was taking a hit or trying to be malicious, just pointing out that like every other team, shit happens and its happening to the Pats right now.
