Saw it last night, I thought it was really well done. I haven't the slightest idea how well it followed the book, I hadn't read it since I was in elementary school, but overall I thought it was a pretty good movie.

I'd have to agree, it was good. But not great. Solid performances and voice-overs all around, I was very impressed. The production value was also very solid, though at times you could tell they cut the CG department short on funds. I thought they handled the transition from book to film very well, though I can see people who obsess over details to be up in arms. Over all one pos E-thumbs out of two:

About the voice overs, some of them didn't seem to fit very well, like the wolf

When I first heard that there were Christian groups encouraging their congregations to go and see the movie, I was surprised. They kept calling it a Christian allegory. Of course, it's probably been 15 years since I've read the books (and was eight years old at the time), so I didn't remember anything of the sort.
But, after seeing it yesterday, I can definitely see where they're coming from. Aslan is very much a Christ/God figure (for many reasons I won't go into out of fear of spoiling this for someone). I enjoyed it, and now I need to go back and read the books again. I remember really enjoying them as a child, but, again, that was a decade and a half ago. |

I'm not neccessarily saying he did it bad, it just didn't seem like the voice would be coming from the wolf.

It just didn't seem like the wolf was actually talking, with the beavers etc., it actually seemed like it might be them.

I used to watch the old PBS Choronicles of Narnia movies when I was a kid, so I'm like knee-deep in the mythology. I've always wanted to see these movies made into something bigger, with a Hollywood backing and the proper special effects.
I'm going to see it tonight. Hope it won't disappoint. |

I loved the books and all when I was a kid, but god did the movie blow. It was so hyped up for nothing. I nearly fell asleep a few times.
I just hope Kong doesn't let me down this much. |

Was a quite good movie. Though I think the wolf could've used a different voice actor, the guy who did the wolf pulled it off rather well I thought.
And I'm a man who loves him some good voice acting. |

It was the best book-to-movie movie that I've seen, albeit I heard that the book Babe does the movie more justice than The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

That's sort of to be expected from an adaptation of a kids' book, though, right? I mean, it would have been weird for it to wind up with an "R" rating and a scene of implied bestiality between Aslan and the White Witch.

Saw it last night, I really liked it. It's been years and years since I read the book and I'd forgotten a lot of it, but it seemed to be a really good adaptation. I thought the violence was done really well, the lack of blood keeps it down to a PG rating so that the target audience (children, not Ninti) can still watch it.

Saw it last night. Went in expecting less, and got more. All in all, a good movie. I've also never read the books, nor do I want to.

Never read the books and in fact never even heard of such books, but was asked to go. I did, and actually liked it. I'd even probably go again if someone who had not seen it yet wanted to and asked me to tag along.

Well, I never even heard of Narnia before the movie ever came out so I didnt know what to expect.
That movie should've been a DVD port. Not worth the theatre space. |

I really liked it. I thought the voice-overs were fine except for Liam Neeson. I love the guy, but his voice was just too soft for the role, IMO. They should have got James Earl Jones, since he has experience playing a Lion anyways.

I thought Neeson was spot on for the Lion - I've seen it twice now, I reckon I'll probably see it again in the near future.
