That being said, in the case of the patriots I wonder what they will do, it's still going to be show'd on the local networks for the teams playing, which mostlikely means a boston station, which you can still get in parts of RI and NH, but not likely in CT, will CT be given the game? Since it's "new england" and CT is 1/2 Pats fans and 1/2 Giants fans?

It's actually a valid question, will the coverage be "home viewing area" or "home town"...

Ha okay wasn't sure if you were serious or not.

Typically even if the local team isn't playing the affiliate the team plays on gets the big game of the week. You know that though. The thing I like is that the Jets and Giants are in the AFC and NFC respectively, and on CBS and FOX respectively. I don't have to worry about getting shafted out of seeing my team. Now I know the Jets get priority over the Bills where I am, but if the Jets aren't on the Bills get shown.

I don't think teams would minimize their viewing audience and the article that Assman posted seems to me would be the NFL only hurting their own bottom line.

Favre needs to get out because the longer he stays on, the longer the Packers will have to wait to mold a replacement. Plus if Mike McCarthy benches him at all this year he'll get run out of town. The Packers need to sack up and put emotions aside.

I see the opposite, I see more people making sure they have the NFL network, more people watching exclusive NFL shown games, their network, their commercials, etc... I think you may see it even more.

Don't forget, MNF goes to ESPN, that's a cable channel also, so if you don't have Cable, you wont get MNF.

I suppose you're right in the long term VEL, but I see AssMan's gripe as of now. I have cable and I'm not worried about it. I definitely wouldn't get satelite just for the NFL Network if I was paying the bills, seeing as how it would only be one or two games my team would be playing on there in any given year, tops. Besides, cable is a lot better, satelite just jerks you around, especially for local channels. The only easy way to get them is if you're in a big market, like a NYC or a Boston.

I have DTV, have had it for over 5years and rarely have had any problems.

Also, a friend of mine has cable and he gets the NFL network.

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand his "gripe" but I can't fault them for doing it makes $ and sense for them to do it.

Draft, it seems over the years RB seems to be one of the easiest positions to replace for some reason, it seems like everyone gets 1,000yds without a problem...

It would be good for Indy to keep him, but they have players before him.

Freeney being #1.

Maybe Manning will re do his deal so they can afford them all?

Doesn't he still take up like 1/2 the cap?

Just about any running back you plug in now a days will get 1,000 yards like VEL said, I think that the standard of a good season isn't really 1,000 yards anymore, I'd say something like 1,200 or 1,300 yards should be more like the new 1,000.

Edge can't be replaced in the draft. They might be able to plug in somebody and have that guy get 1,000 yards, but their offense will not be as dangerous as it is now.

I dunno what will happen, but i do know Bill Polian is a personell genius. He'll figure something out. How bout Ron Dayne ? I dunno just throwing it out there. I heard J.Lewis was a free agent( not sure if thats true). He might be cheaper then Edge at this point.

Thing is. I dont see anyone giving Edge a huge deal. I'd hate to lose the guy but i'd love to gain a Power Running back who can block. I like Ron Dayne.
