So do you think the rock is doing better sinc ehe left?
I mean, really hes made a whole bunch of movies (and money) but in terms of acting, i dont believe hes ever been nomitated for something worthwhile has he? i mean all those movies....and he takes hom the worst actor award for doom from some award show i enver heard of? Seems like stacy might be the one true "wrestler" to jump ship and do it with moderate sucess, however time will tell if thats 100% true as well. IDK, i kinda miss the rock more then i used to lately....damn this wwe garbage

Rock is doing allright, a career in acting is better than a career in wrestling provided Rocky still keeps getting the parts. He gets paid more to do one film than what he would earn taking bumps on the road in WWE.

I think in the end we'll all say the same thing about Rock's movie career that we say about Hogan's... nothing amazing or anything terrible. Justfilms that made money and weren't memorable

There are plenty of actors that are huge draws and are paid tens of millions of dollars that never got a sniff of any kind of academy or golden globe or anything. If Rocky is seen as enough of a draw that he's getting upwards of $5 million to make a movie where he takes no physical punishment, then he's a success. Saying that Stacey Kiebler made it bigger than he did based on one pseudo reality show is ridiculous. And comparing him to Hogan is a joke since Hogan's movies were direct to video features with minimal studio support. Scorpion king alone made more money than all of Hogan's movies combined. Id' say Rocky is doing fine for himself. |

No one is comparing him to Hogan on the level of earnings. Merely on the level of the outcome of the movies. Can you say Hogan made any great films? No. Did Hogan make any truly terrible films? I don't think so. The way I meant it was that he'll be the same as Hogan in that respect. And of course there's no way to compare it to now, you fool. Movies where I live (LI in NY) are 9.50 each. Hypothetically, a Rock movie now could draw half the people and gross as much as a Hogan film because of the spike in ticket costs |

Rocky will only get better IMO.
His last roles were alright, but in the future, I think he'll be in even better movies initially, he did the action hero stuff, but eventually his roles will be more diverse I'm looking forward to Southland Tales It's a slow but steady climb to the top |

Rock's movies might be run of the mill action flicks. But Hogan's were, on the whole, a steaming pile of crap. Quote:
So a studio is spending more in order to make more. Hogan's movies, even at a minimal cost were still not profitable whihc is why he stopped gettign offers years ago. |

Hogan's appeared in three movies that went to theatres. Muppets in Space. Rocky 3 (bit part). And No Holds Barred. That's it.
You can look up the profits for all his movies. Most are in the hundreds of thousands to low millions. The Rock's ar ein the tens of millions. I think Walking Tall had a loss. But even if you factor in this magical inflation you keep referencing, there's no way you can compare Hogan making a high 6 figures per movie to Rock making $8 million plus. Inflation would have to be at somewhere like 300%. |

Yup. Magical inflation. Its part of the reason you pay so much more for things now as opposed to 5 or 10 years ago. Perhaps get yourself in some business courses.
Are you still comparing Hogan to Rock earnings wise?? Cause I'm still not. The point I was trying to make was that The Rock will probably have a bunch of profitable but forgettable movies. Would you say Scorpion King was a great movie? How about Walking Tall? They're aren't bad movies, but are you gonna remember how "great" these movies are a couple of years from now. That's what I mean when I say memorable. Jurassic Park is memorable, but I'd hardly say it was a great movie. Conversely, Scorpion King was a good movie, but not memorable. That's the difference, as an example |

The Rock has been in some good action movies that are solid and survive under their own merit. I haven't cared for them all, but then, I don't like Doom in general, so a movie for it won't turn me on. The Rock is a legit action star, while Hogan was on a day pass. While he may have started with a novelty (Mummy Return,. Scorpion King), he's a legit action hero. |

If you take out the Thunder in Paradies TV specials that are included as TV movies, Hogan has made about a dozen pictures. A third of them are considered so bad that Amazon tells people NOT TO BUY THEM. You could probably compare Rock's career to guys like Vin Diesel. Moderately successful actions atrs. But as far as a movie "star" he's light years ahead of where Hogan is or ever was. |

At what point did I state that inflation was around that figure? ...Yeah, I just said it why you pay more for things now as opposed to in the past. You're of the opinion that Hogan made some truly terrible movies, that's fine. I'm not saying any of his movies were great, hell no I'm not. But its a matter of tastes and preferances. The whole amazon thing I don't really pay attention to, for every site that says how bad Hogan's movies were, I'm pretty sure we could find 10 that say Hogan is a God and that everything he did was amazing.
I agree he's ahead of Hogan, and that's not exactly hard. What I've said and am continuing to say, is that action star (I'll but that) or not, are you gonna remember how great his movies were in the future. I never said he was a bad actor or Hogan was better, I wanted to use Hogan as the point of movies that were forgettable. And really, that's what they are, fun forgettable action movies. That's not entirely his fault though, part of it I'm sure the scirpts and the like. But Face Off for example was a good memorable action movie, so it can be done. I would never compare him to Vin Diesel, I'm not a big Vin Diesel fan |

I'd say just the opposite about Rock and Stacy. Rock's had 4 movies that he's starred in, and several that he's been a supporting actor. He might not be a Brad Pitt at this point, but he's making loads more than he did as a wrestler, and in a much safer environment. He's got plenty of movies lined up in the future. I'd say he's pretty much established as an option for leading roles in Hollywood.
Stacy on the other hand has an inflated head at the moment. She went on a reality TV show, didn't win, and thinks that she'll have any option in the world right now. My opinion of her is that she really isn't a wrestling fan, and she can go in whatever direction she wants. But the attitude she's shown recently.... she acts like wrestling is for hillbillys and morons, and because she was a finalist on some flavor of the month talent show she's entitled to all kinds of fame. I believe that she'll just be another flavor of the month like the dancing show she was on. |

Stacy will probably appear on some TV show in a small role, then she'll end up back in WWE licking Vince's balls on live TV

We can all hope that maybe she'll get desperate for attention after she falls flat on her face. Then maybe we'll get a playboy photo shoot of her in the near future.

Stacy Keibler wouldn't do Playboy for $10 million. I think she is gonna be a seriously massive star. Like Hollywood A-List stuff within 5 years. And she will deserve it too because she is by far the nicest celeb I have ever met. Far too good for the wrestling business.
And as for The Rock - He is making millions of dollars, as popular as ever and is far away from the carnies. He is doing fine. Best of luck to both of them. |

I was suprised by the Rock. I thought we'd see three or four "Suburban Commando" movies and then he'd come back. You know, shit that would sell primarily on the novelty of the Rock kicking ass but having a soft spot, or dressing in a tutu, or being a bodygaurd for some kid.
I was pleasantly surprised by his movies. The Scorpion King wasn't that great, but it was a shitty spinoff that I couldn't help but compare to the Mummy. HE's done good in everything I've seen and established himself pretty well. And I hate to say it, but more power to him if he's a sucess in acting. I miss his wrestling, but if he wants to act, more power to the man. |

Actually, come to think of it, I do think Stacey can make it far. Wouldn't be surprised. As long as she doesn't think like Brock Lesnar, I think she'll do fine.
At the same token, I wouldn't be surprised if she did come back to WWE |

Has everyone forgotten about The Rundown?
That is his best movie so far. When Arnold walked by him in the beginning of the movie and said, "Have fun", I believe he was "passing the torch" so to speak to Rocky. |

I have yet to enjoy any of the Rock's movies.
Scorpion King: Boring. The Rundown: I love Christopher Walken, but once again this movie bored me to tears. Be Cool: I have only ever turned off three movies; Mission Impossible, Pitch Black, and this one. Utter shit. He has'nt gone down to Hogan level in terms of cinematic crap, but nothing he's done that I've seen is worthy of praise. |
