Ring of Honor In The UK!!!

Ring of Honor, the USA’s top independent promotion, is proud to announce its first ever UK tour weekend on August 12th and 13th, 2006. For the first time ever ROH will fly its entire cast and crew overseas to bring European wrestling fans even closer to the most innovative pro wrestling product in the United States today.

The tour will make two stops with the first event taking place in the prestigious Liverpool Olympia on Saturday August 12. The ROH team will then travel south of the country to end its trip in one of UK wrestling fans favourite venues, the Broxbourne Civic Hall on Sunday August 13.

Tour organiser Alex Shane said: “Last year saw the birth of the UK Supershow featuring top US indie stars competing on UK events. This is the next step with an entire US indie promotion coming to the UK for a whole weekend of shows.

“This is not a UK show featuring ROH talent but a US style ROH show taking place in our own country. It will be something that no UK grappling fan will want to miss.”

ROH promoter Cary Silkin added: “We have a huge following over in the UK but the closest our British fans could get was to fly over to the States to get their ROH fix.

“This tour will show our fans that we want to pay them back for their loyalty to the product by bringing ROH to them. Our roster is really excited about this project and can’t wait to show UK fans what ROH has to offer them. We are all looking to impress and are 100% confident that we will leave British fans wanting more Ring of Honor.”

The Liverpool Olympia
The Liverpool Olympia holds over 1,700 and is one of the most elegant venues able to cater to wrestling events in the whole United Kingdom. Its internal architecture makes it not only spectacular to look at but creates an amazing atmosphere that will no doubt begin Ring of Honor’s first ever UK tour with the desired bang on Saturday August 12.

Tickets are priced between £75 and £10 and go on sale from Monday May 1 through the Liverpool Olympia box office or online at www.rohwrestling.com

Doors open at 5pm with the show starting at 6pm.

There will be a fan slam event held during the day at the venue with an additional cost of £6 entry where fans can meet the wrestlers as well as get autographs, merchandise and hear exclusive question and answer sessions with the stars of ROH.

The ROH fan slam will begin at 12.30pm until 4pm.

The Broxbourne Civic Hall
The Broxbourne Civic Hall has housed some of the most memorable wrestling matches in the UK over the last 5 years. Named by many UK fans as their favourite southern wrestling venue the Civic hall has a history of great wrestling. Hertfordshire’s most beloved wrestling venue has seen the like of AJ Styles, ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels, American Dragon, Steve Corino, Super Crazy, Jerry Lynn and many more perform between its walls over recent years but never housed a line up as impressive as it will on Sunday August 13.

Yeah I read that whole thing. Bear in mind that is ringside though, I seem to remember getting like 3rd row at the RoH/FWA show a few years ago for general admission.

Is it true the 1PW shows were selling for like £85 ringside though?

For 1PW's next event, prices range from £15 to £45.

For their last event, it was around £65 for ringside or something.

I think top whack was £45. That's still a rip off. £30 absolute tops for a ringside indy ticket.

Well, from what I know of Broxbourne (friend who I'll most likely go with has been there plenty of times for FWA) there's not too much difference where you sit, so £20 a pop will do me.

Should work, anyway. About 30 minutes from Liverpool Street by train, then 20 minutes walk from the station, or so I understand it. Last train back on a Sunday is about 11.20

1PW sells ringside tickets for £65, 2nd/3rd row for £45, then the rest is £30 down to £15. I got 2nd row for All or Nothing, and I have ringside for Know Your Enemy.

I don't really follow the UK scene but as far as I know FWA is dead in the water. Shane is calling himself RoH's European promoter, or somesuch. He's involved with this show, anyway.

Yeah that sounds great.

Apart from the fact they are coming over on the same weekend of a TNA PPV so most of the roster i'd want to see wont be there.

And 75 quid to see Dunn and Marcos is a rip.

I'm going to watch some ROH tonight, I've got 5th row seats and they cost me $20 and it will have a full roster, there's no way in hell that price can be justified.

Apart from the fact they are coming over on the same weekend of a TNA PPV so most of the roster i'd want to see wont be there.
Do you know that for definite? I haven't seen anywhere confirm this as fact.
