Discussion: Would you be able to handle life on the road as a WWE Superstar

It's been well documented that the likes of Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and John Heidenreich didn't like or couldn't continue with the tough road schedule of WWE

Would it suit you? Could you personally handle it for years on end? Or do you think you'd go insane?

Discuss

I honestly don't think I would. The travelling itself would be fine, but being away from loved ones, and just the whole attitude that goes with it. I mean, look at Paul London. The guy has to fly around the world, just hoping for half an opportunity to show his talent. Last week he didn't even get the chance to appear on WWE TV. It would be extremely frustrating. I admire some guys' resolve.

There would be times when there would be nothing better than it, though. Like being in a high profile feud. To be Triple H, Shawn Michaels or even Kane (despite the fact he gets a lot of shit writing coming his way) and have storylines each and every week, with developments happening to your character every night you appear. That would be awesome. The Spirit Squad is another example of this. Every week the spotlight is on them. I could definately put up with that.

No. You're away from home way more than you're home.

There's no time to see the different cities and scenery. You can't see something awesome on the way and check it out for a while (Well I'm sure there's time occasionally).

It's probably really fun and awesome at first, but for years at a time? I couldn't handle the WWE schedule.

I'd be Brock Lesnar. I'd be the guy who had the balls to sign up for a longterm contract, bitch about touring, and then suing Vince when he let me out of my contract early.

If I was single and making $200,000 a year then I definately could. I wouldn't want to though. 4 days on and 3 days off would be shitty if you had a family at home and I'd rather be with them.

I used to think that not only could I handle it, but I would thrive in that enviroment. Now realistically as I get older I realise more and more that I just couldn't handle it. I have totally changed as far as who I am as a person over the last few years...so no. The WWE lifestyle just isn't for me anymore.

The only way I could possibly do that is if I was single. But then, having that much money, being young and being in a new city every night...I'd fail the drug test before long or end up in some kind of trouble.

So, no I couldn't do it.

What was the figures again? Work about 300+ days a year and get a total of like 60 off, more or less. I'm surprised some of the wives of the wrestlers hang on to them like Jericho's etc. Like Just John, I ain't planning on marriage or anything like that, so it could work for me.

But on the flip side, unless you are really up there, and I mean Triple H, HBK up there (Still wondering how the hell cena pulled it off.), you gotta pay for everything. Car, hotel, plane tix, etc.

Yeah and now Curt Hennig is gone and Scott Hall is a recovering alcoholic. It seems to be a very rough lifestyle, I won't even pretend that I would ever do it.

As long as I was without a wife and kids, or any other commitment I could do it.
I love wrestling, and entertaining people (or at least trying). I could handle the traveling and being away from people. And think of the ovation you will get when you get back to your hometown, and wrestling near where you grew up for me, it would make it all worthwhile. My dream in wrestling is to Hold the IC title more then any other wrestler has, for some reason I would only want to be a world champ once just so I could say I had a reign, but the pressure of being World champ is too much, I would rather the second rung, since falling from top would hurt alot more. And also I would like a hardcore title reign.

I'd hate it. I can't stand driving to work in the morning because of traffic. I can't stand airplanes. So no I could not. I'd be working for TNA.

Yeah, but I was using the philosophy, not the men as an example. I'm sure my idea of fun is WAY different from what they consider(ed) fun. I personally don't think that drinking, smoking, or pill-popping are needed, but i haven't lived that lifestyle, so to each his own.

If I was a single guy with no commitments, I could do it. But as it is, I couldn't stand to be away from my family and g/f for the majority of the year.
