95,000 people to an international football friendly where the result was meaningless. Being able to see the country of my heritage play the country that I was born in and have grown up in.
Seeing the ground in a sea of both blue and white, and green and gold. The best of both worlds...LOVE IT. |

Seeing as we're on a biased note here...
I'll say Wales defeating Italy 2-1 in 2002 in a Euro 2004 qualifier. Being in the Millenium Stadium that night amongst 72,000 fans was unbelievable, one of Wales' greatest ever upsets. The atmosphere was incredible. |

Due to 98% of people only putting moments from their own country, I'm gonna declare David Boon's 34 cans of beer from Sydney to Perth as the Greatest sporting moment ever.
Thread over. |

My top 5 sporting moments of all time:
St.Kilda winning the 1996 premiership in the then VFL (Victorian Football League) with a 1 point over Collingwood, the most successful team of all time (just about). St.Kilda, the most unsuccessful team of all time...who hadn't won a premiership in their first 69 years of being in the competition. The entire 2005 Ashes series. Although Australia played shite and England played well above themselves, every match (except the first match) was a cliff hanger. The cricket career of Don Bradman. No one has even come close to Bradman's feats in cricket. Australia VS India, 2nd test (I believe) in...hmm, 1995...someone can clarify. VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly take the home team from following on to winning the test match, India go on to win the series, BASTARDS!!! Brazil dominating world football from 1994 (World cup winners), 1998 (World cup runners-up), 2002 (World Cup winners) and heavy favourites for the 2006 world cup |

I think you mean '66, mate. (ps St Kilda are a bunch of shitcunt poofters & Neitz is a fucking champion)
The Australia/India game was about 2001 I think. I think they were about 4-34 after being asked to follow on, 1-0 down in a 3 test series & somehow managed to win it. But I dont reckon it beats Steve Waugh's 200 against the Windies in 1995; 1-1 in going into the last game of a test series with no. 1 spot in the World on the line against one of the best bowling attacks ever, it was the beginning of one of the most ruthless sporting teams ever. Ps St Kilda are faggots & Riewoldt takes it up the arse. |

The Canucks run at the cup in '94. - Fuck me, I was going hyped on that.
Guy Lafleur and the Canadiens knocking off the 'Big Bad' Bruins in 78(?) Kirk Gibson's HR and then Orel's pitching performance the following game. Leon Spinks VS Ali - Biggest hyped fight I as a youngster witnessed, not to mention the fight. Jays/Tigers battle it out for the American League East Championship in 87. These two teams were at each other's throats for about 5 years prior. Man, the Blew Jays were dispatched in the end by the Tigers. But I gotta tell you, it was some of the best ball I ever witnessed. |

-Michael Johnson's 200 & 400 meter blowout in the Olympics '96. The guy just looked like he was floating on air when he ran.
-There are too many moments with Jordan. I'd have to say the buzzer beater in Cleveland, The 'right-to-left' layup against the Lakers in '91 (i actually watched it live...looked like the matrix), Jordan's game winning shot over Russell in '98, his famous 'foul line' dunk. -Iverson's game 1 performance of the '01 NBA finals. When he crossed up Lue and hit the shot, then STEPPED over him....delicious. -Boston Red Sox winning the World Series. I am not a big baseball fan, but i know Boston fans still have their hard-on's from that moment. -Anything with Ali in it. Whether it was his media 'promos', fights, quotes, etc. The man was the first "Rock" of sports. |

Donovan Bailey earning the title of world's fastest man from Michael Johnson during their 150m race. Johnson knew he was losing so he fakes an injury...

One that hasn't been mentioned yet:
Gatting, Mike., b. Warne, S.K., Old Trafford 3 June 1993 One of the best balls in cricket history. Warney's head actually refused to fit inside a room from that ball onwards. |
