Question For KayfabeMan (or anybody else who can answer it)
Ok, I figure KayfabeMan will be the only person who could answer this question in detail but I could be wrong but anway, I was wondering; What was the deal with Hogan laying down for Sting at Halloween Havoc '99?? I had never seen it before until today when I saw it at a friend's house. He seems to think it was a work but in my opinion it had shoot written all over it and less than a year later at Bash At The Beach the whole Russo/Hogan/Jarrett lay down/shoot took place. So any idea on what REALLY happened that night?

It was a work. If it is in front of the camera it is a work.

Sorry,I didn't catch this until just now - been EXTREMELY busy.
Here is the situation,as best as I know and/or can describe it all. This was a mock shoot angle (set up by Russo) that went absolutely nowhere at all. Hogan "walked out" on a Nitro, and wasn't seen for a while. What the wrestling media/public was "leaked" about the incid- ent was that Hogan was unhappy about the match with Sting, and in effect, did not want to job to him. They made it seem like Hogan would either shoot or no-show. When the incident occured,it basically left everyone confused, because 1/2 the people never got any of the "leaked" information, and the people who did couldn't understand it.As a booker,I think that Russo wanted to try to make it look like Hulk was in effect doing a "You want your belt/the win? There it is...." type of thing (almost like what Jarrett & he pulled on Hogan sometime later). It was basically a big waste of time, and was never mentioned again. |
