Honky Tonk Man does not have that much rep yet (10+)
Honky Tonk sure had one hell of a time managing Billy Gunn, but my vote goes to the man that always had my back, The Mouth of the South, Jimmy Hart. Boy, did us boys have a grand ol time. The heat we generated was scary at points. But let me tell you, it was fun. We had fun with what we did and I wouldn't trade those days for nothing brother.

I can never just pick one of anything, but I'll go with Heenan for now. I've also made a list of others that I narrowed down from the list above. They're in no particular order, other than probably alphabetical.

Freddie Blassie - was always a FANTASTIC manager as well.
Lou Albano - just had a certain maniac / genius thing about him.
Diamond Dallas Page - was great as a manager. Just perfect for it.
The Genius Lanny Poffo - was hilarious, and a great overall talent.
Jimmy Hart - didn't do a ton with a lot of his guys, but worked
Mr. Fuji - was classic. Leant that "teaching you evil psychology" factor.
Harley Race - worked great with Vader and others. True legend.
Robert Parker - was definitely one of my favs. LOVED the SS group.

Heenan was Hogan's biggest Fued of the booms era. He was the guy trying to take down hogan, bringing in beast after beast trying to ebat him. Only manager to ever be the focal point of a Main Event Fued. Jimmy Hart is over-rated. His guys were never much, and the most he ever did was toss a megaphone to the Heels. I wont even talk about WCW Hart.....Blah

Heenan is by far the best manager and best commentator EVER! He got the fucking RED ROOSTER over! Thats how much heat he had

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. No-one really comes close.

Honorable mentions to Jim Cornette, Johnny Polo (far too brief a run to be the best ever, but he may have gotten there if he wasn't so eager to wrestle), Jimmy Hart and Sunny. The Jackyl, Don Callis, had a lot of potential but it never came to be.

Blassie was great... but Heenan was absolutely gold. There will never, ever be another Bobby Heenan.

Dammit, why don't WWE bring managers back on a large scale, like the good old days?? I know some people on here ride me for being "stuck in the past" or "too old school" or whatever, but some of these concepts are proven money makers.

If there is a talent drought in the manager genre, Jimmy Hart is still around and could slip right back in to modern day WWE... as long as they give him some decent charges, not the likes of Meng and Barbarian that he was lumbered with in WCW. Heyman is still on the books. Estrada could manage more than one wrestler at a time. It's frustrating.

I agree. I miss the days of managers. Coach is even another one who could be a good manager. Managers could definetely help some wrestlers who arn't good on the mic get over. The World's Greatest Tag team might be able to get over if they were given a manager as a mouth piece for example.

Whatever happened to Jose Lothario? It's strange that during Shawn Michaels' entire WWF title run in 1996, he had Jose as his manager. I always tend to forget that.

Last I heard, Jose still had a wrestling school open in TX.

He wasn't doing so much of the hands on training himself, but he ran the school last I heard. Someone I know was going there, but that was back over 2 years ago probably.

Actually, I'm guessing unless WWE owns some footage of a wrestler, you won't be seeing that wrestler in the Hall. Not sure if WWE owns any footage from Mexico, doubtful I'd say, but he was a star in the Texas area too, wasn't he?

No votes for Paul Bearer?

The ones that jump right off the bat at me are Heenan, Paul Bearer, Paul Heyman, Blassie, and the McMahons tbh.
Chyna was pretty damn good too.

Heenan stated that one guy who has the potential to be the next Bobby Heenan, the next great wrestling manager, is Shane McMahon.

I have to agree. Shane is a tremendous performer, but never seems to stick around long enough to make a major impact. 5 years ago, Shane could have easily been a full-time wrestler, and was good enough not only to ward off any resentment or accusations of nepotism, but could have been taken seriously in the main event title hunt. Now, he's a bit older so I'm not so sure. But he would make a tremendous manager.

Shane is such a great performer. I think it's a big mistake that they haven't chose to do a Shane/Foley match for WM23, not to say its too late.
