Question...
Mantell also has a few "pet projects" in Robert Roode, Eric Young and Abyss. According to Wade Keller, Abyss always follows Mantell around backstage and is seen by some as his shadow. Abyss has also rubbed some people the wrong way at times by always asking "how did I do" after every match and promo.
credit. tpww.net front page --- Does this seem incredibly stupid to get mad about? So the man asks how he performed, and apparently he gets heat for it? I mean, at least the guy hasn't let his feud with STING go to his head where he walks around like he's the savior of wrestling. I don't know... just seems like a bunch of people are jealous that he's getting a push and been given the chance to feud with the legendary Sting. |

It's hard to tell without being there.
Having been in many locker rooms and such, I know some people ask very excessively and / or in a matter that is either annoying or suggestive that they need to be reassured of their ability, etc. constantly. I do however agree that a lot of times guys just ask how something was & everyone tends to flip out and shit. I, thankfully, had been surrounded by a great group of people who either came to me with advice without me going and soliciting it, or were very open and receptive to helping me everytime I have asked for it. |

Yeah, I guess the context, tone of how it was asked and everything else can be a huge factor.

I don't know... it still seems like a strange thing to get fussy over. I mean the guy always seems to be giving it the best he has got to offer. He seems to be doing his best, trying to make good out of his ManKane gimmick with TNA style storylines. The guy has probably gone through more thumbtacks than most ever will in their career.
I would be grateful that a guy in Abyss' position on the card would even bother to ask others 'how he did'. Seems pretty humble and mindful of others opinions. Its better than having guys who act like prima donnas, don't put ANY effort into thier matches and don't even think to wonder how others feel about their performance. |
