The Forum Horsemen were already done like 2 years ago. I'd like to think it's what put Destor on the map as a good poster at TPWW (before that he was quite hated for some reason). Anyway, it was done, any other Horsemen knock off would simply be just that, a cheap knock off of our knock off.

I'm still not sure I ever saw a cooler group than Flair, Arn, Pillman and Benoit.

Although Shawn, H and Chyna were pretty great.

See, at first I was inclined to believe what Zen was saying, and after reading it, that sounds more right than whatever the hell BDC was saying. Bret Hart is still the man.

I dunno, man. I'm pretty sure he wasn't about to jump to WCW directly after Survivor Series. He would've jobbed to HBK, but he just didn't wanna do it in Canada. Makes sense to me.

I actually liked the Lex Luger version more than the one with Ole.

I've always heard that Survivor Series was the last night of his contract, and Vince did it because he was afraid Bret would take the belt to WCW and pull a Medusa because of Bischoff.

I love Bret Hart, and I'm a huge fan of his, but I definetely believe he should have dropped the belt at Survivor Series. Now I understand Vince's reasons for screwing Bret, as he couldn't trust anyone who was heading to WCW, with all the things they were pulling on him. With that being said I understand Bret being hurt by Vince, as I'm sure he trusted him a whole lot. But really I love Bret, but it's been ten years, so can't we and bret, and everyone else find something to talk about.

Survivor Series wasn't the last day on his contract, that was a lot of the issue - Bret offered to appear on any show until, I believe, December 7th to lose the belt, even offering to lose it to Steve Lombardi in MSG. He just didn't want to lose in Canada to a guy he didn't personally or professionally respect, and made clear he would never job to Bret. Bischoff probably couldn't have binned the belt even if he wanted to, as there was a lawsuit against him at the time stemming from the Madusa deal, and doing so would have been fucking himself.

The Windham incarnation was cool, but I love the dynamic of how divergent the personalities were in Flair/Arn/Pillman/Benoit. The Crippler, the Loose Cannon, the Enforcer and the Nature Boy. Everyone drastically different to each other.

Arn and Flair both said that they wished Benoit was around when Ole left so he could step in, cause he fit in so well.

So Bret offered to drop the belt to the Brooklyn Brawler? That is even more disrepectful.

Relating to the Horsemen, they didn't push the Pillman version like the Horsemen of old, so it kind of sucked. They were always jobbing to Hogan. Pillman's run was awesome though during that.

I always liked Ole. He was like the tough elder of the group and he cut good promos. The one on Sting is my favorite. He's super nice in real life too. He'll sit and talk for hours with you.

I'll put it down like this:

How many times in his WWF/E Career did Bret drop titles without a match taking place?

How many times in his WWF/E Career did HBK drop titles without a match taking place?

That's all I'm gonna say about that one. I still say the Manhattan Incident is bullshit and that he really hasn't changed since becoming a "Christian."

At the same time, Bret should make like the Beatles and "Let it Be." He was incredibly Naive if he thought he WOULDN'T get screwed by Vince. See Richter, Wendy. I also think that there may have been something screwy over the Backlund-Sheik title change, but I can't remember off-hand. I think the list of people Vince WOULDN'T screw is very short, and included Harley (because Race is lives and dies by his word. That and he would fuck Vince up if he even considered it.) and maybe Stu Hart. I think he'd even screw Taker if he felt he had to. There are literally a trail of gaping assholes behind Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

Damn, that's a disturbing image now that I think of it.

At that point he probably would have to be honest, he was so involved in taking Vince out he was apparently driven insane when WWF caught up.

And I agree that in terms of a "run", the Pillman/Benoit Horsemen wasn't a big deal in the landscape of things. By no means were they the most successful incarnation of the Horsemen, but I remember many a time, like Starrcade 95, when Flair got the belt, and thinking this was as exciting and interesting a version of the Horsemen I'd seen. To me they were the coolest, though not the most successful.

I think we can both agree on the awesomeness of Brian F'n Pillman.
