Has The Boogeyman stepped his game up recently?
I used to hate The Boogeyman in the ring, but for the last couple weeks, he's been totally tolerable. He seems to be putting in a lot more effort than ever before, and he seems to be more comfortable with his character as well. Maybe it's just me. What do you think?

Honestly, I can get why you'd call some indie guys green, but no one is greener than Marty Wright. No one. I could get in the ring and have more talent than him.

I do see where this talk of improvement is coming from, though. I've actually found myself somewhat getting into the character again. I wish they'd explain why he changed his face paint, as it could provide a deeper character for him to play. The whole "he's crazy and eat worms" thing is pretty shallow, but I like the idea of him actually being a former actor who believes in voodoo magic, and studies ceremonies to help him defeat wrestlers. His more recent scarier face paint could be created by him especially for his battles with Big Daddy V, for example.

The Boogeyman is all gimmick, but I wouldn't mind it if they took a more realistic approach to the silliness. Have Armando Estrada charge Joey Styles, or even Timmy Baltimore, with studying up on The Boogeyman, and providing some documentary evidence as to who he is, and what he stands for. Have some features put up on WWE.com, and even have a few segments air of Styles/Baltimore's findings. Just give us a day in the life of The Boogeyman, and let us see how he lives a human existence, as well as his one of seemingly paranormal abilities.

Because it is mostly jackass flipping and flopping around not actually wrestling and not actually telling a story in the ring. As far as ROH is concerned, the only matches that don't tell any stories whatsoever are the 4 or 6 man matches that are thrown together. And to classify most of their wrestlers as a bunch of flipping jackasses isn't really fair, since I could probably count all the aerial wrestlers that they have on a regular basis on one hand.

That's probably the best way to put it.

For MOST wrestlers, they're in the indies because they don't have mainstream appeal, in either look, wrestling style, ability, etc.

There are, of course, those stuck up shits who do the indies because "VINCE MCMAHON IZ KILLIN RESLIN" (FYI: I'm not saying they're wrong - to a degree) and a few that either haven't been "discovered" or are ignored, but the vast majority just don't have the appeal.

There are, of course, those stuck up shits who do the indies because "VINCE MCMAHON IZ KILLIN RESLIN" (FYI: I'm not saying they're wrong - to a degree) and a few that either haven't been "discovered" or are ignored, but the vast majority just don't have the appeal.
I'd imagine the number of phenonomenal indy wrestlers to be comething like 1% of the overall population. Arbitrary number with some wiggle room, but incredibly low, either way.

Most won't get discovered. That's fine, because most indy wrestlers would get watered down anyway. It's great commercially for them, but means little to us. Really, it's mostly moot.

On the other hand, look is overrated. Just wanted to point that one out.

I'm not so sure about that one. I mean, for decades, people had the same gimmick for years, which were rehashed. Guys had limited movesets and nobody gave a shit about workrate.
