Paul Heyman
Did he have creative control during his tenure as the Smackdown! General Manager?

I believe he was writing SmackDown! for a while if that's what you mean.
"Creative Control" is when you have control over what your character does and doesn't do. In a way he did have it during that time but I seriously doubt it was in his contract. |

You just said in another thread that you started watching in 2005 and weren't around during the Katie Vick times. Which as the exact same time he was booking Smackdown. So what in the blue hell are you talking about?

That's true. Eddie, Chavo, Rey, Edge, Benoit and Rhino weren't exactly main event players at the time; in fact they were far from. But they still consistently had the best matches on WWE TV that year.

Yes the above guys were having great matches, but they weren't as strong in star power as Raws overpopulated roster.
For established main eventers, Heyman only had Taker, Angle and Big Show to work with On Raw guys like Booker T, RVD, Jericho and Christian could have been huge assets to him, and be better utilized than they were on Monday nights. I'd love to have seen those 3 guys thrown into Smackdowns main event at the time, or that uppermidcard you talked about. The matches would have been even more incredible. |

/agree
I really wish they'd give the guy more of a chance. Everytime he proves his value, it seems as if WWE then later puts him in a situation where it is almost impossible to succeed. ie: ECW |

Besides the Smackdown 6, the Lesnar/Big Show fued during late 2002 was actually fairly decent. Same with the 'Taker/Lesnar fued.

I remember being impressed with the Billy Kidman/Paul London/Shooting Star Press feud that Heyman was reportedly the main man behind the story.
