That is was TNA needs, another exWWE/WCW to take up the top positions that they need to be filling with their own guys.

Except, you know, they think to succeed they need every last jobber who was ever in WWE to succeed. Just because it worked for WCW doesn't mean it'll work for them.

If Booker T goes to TNA that actually wouldn't be a bad acquisition for him. The only thing though is they can't just throw the World Title on him ASAP and have him feud with only WWE guys (like Angle or Christian). Get him in the mix with "homegrown" TNA guys and maybe give him a title run or two down the road. But use him as a draw, which I think he can still be, and use him to elevate your own talent.

I honestly don't get what people's problem with using talent that is ex-WWE/WCW. Granted, it bumps down some TNA guys, but if those same TNA guys were getting pushed, you'd complain that they're all indie jobbers.

I mean, hiring broken down guys who can't do jack and shit (Rick Steiner, BG James, Black Reign, etc.) is probably not the smartest business in the world, but there are some guys in TNA that people recognise, and help add legitimacy to the company. Kurt Angle, Sting, Scott Steiner, Junior Fatu (yes, Rikishi) Team 3D and to a lesser extent, Christian Cage and Rhino, have all been the top of their games in either the WWE or WCW, which can casual fans flick over and feel somewhat familiar with the product. It can be hard to lure in viewers when they don't have a clue who anyone is.

What TNA needs to try and avoid is using these talents in programs amongst themselves. For every WWE/WCW guy, you need a relative unknown establishing themselves as at least an equal. TNA has actually done a pretty decent job of doing that.

Anyway, my point being that TNA would be fucking retarded if they didn't pick up Booker T. He's a big star, and well known to those who follow wrestling. If a wrestling fan heard Booker T was in TNA, they'd be at least a little more interested in TNA. Casual fans might even recognise him (I won't go as far as to call Booker a draw, though, although I'm sure he made WCW some cash back in the day).

I wouldn't sign Sharmell to a contract, as she was only really good for heel Booker, and TNA should bring him in as a face. TNA could also try and work something out officially with Booker's PWA promotion. Maybe turn it into a developmental territory?

Honestly I saw it coming like everyone else, and didn't really care. I mean I like him and still find him entertaining, but where as other people who get fired or leave have no where to go or is at shit's end, Booker seems better off outside of WWE. He owns his own promotion which he places a good effort into, seems to be set finacially, and from what I hear has a friendly relationship with TNA. I see it more to benefit him leaving than staying...he still has a name and more options outside the company.

If TNA were to get Booker T and RVD there could be something to it. The booking needs to be a lot better but they could take off.

Angle
RVD
Booker T
Christian Cage
Sting
Samoa Joe
AJ Styles
Rhino
Abyss
Christopher Daniels
Raven
Chris Saban

I don't know about you but that roster impresses me. They need to cut out some guys like Black Reign, Sonjay Dutt, and Lance Hoyt. Get rid of the stupid 6 sided ring and stupid gimmicks and they could have something.

This is the greatest news I have ever received. After all the stupid overbooks, like The Russian Phantom and Mordecai; the countless "Why did you hire that guy?" moments, like Dalip and Kenzo Suzuki; or the supernumerary "I just don't understand WHY" releases of actual talent, like O'Haire, S2H and, dare I say, Maven; Finally, after to so much soul-numbing, wanton mayhem, there is a glimmer of hope -- a spark of reasoning in a an bleakness of moronic mismanaging.

Finally... Booker Tedious... is gone.

At first I had no problem with TNA signing names. And they were smart to get Christian, Angle, and Sting. It brings them the name power they needed. But at this point, who cares if they get Booker? After a certain point with some many names from WCW/WWE/ECW it looks like they are just trying to be those promotions instead of TNA. It is pretty much a balancing act. Also if TNA wasn't so trigger happy on getting everyone from WWE. It if was just Christian, Angle, Sting, and then they hired on Booker, that would be cool. But when they get Golddust, the NOA, Dudleys, Rikishi, Test (albeit for less than a month) and rumors of Joey Merucry, it starts to look bad. It is like the old NWO, at first it was Hogan, Nash, and Hall, then they brought in a few names like Syxx/X-Pac, the Gaint, Rick Rude, and Ted Diabse, that was cool, it was still pretty elite. But then everyone and their mother was in NWO...Was Judy Bagwell NWO?

Anyhow, TNA needs to use what they got, not just keep hiring more old wrestlers.

Exactly, BDC. TNA needs to utilize their own roster and stop relying on outside signings. From my count, roughly half the TNA roster has been in one of the (former) Big Three.

As BDC said, a few signings are fine, Christian, Sting and especially Angle were smart pick ups. But instead of bringing in WWE midcarders to be TNA midcarders they should be building around their own talent and not relying on outside acquisitions to stir up talk. It's a bad sign when they have to rely on people who were made elsewhere to get people to talk, instead of making their own roster and their own stars to get people to tune in. That, I believe, will be the death of TNA.

Booker doesn't NEED to go to TNA. I wouldn't mind him being there, because he is in a business mindframe that he could give some of the younger talent some rub. He's still alot better than some of the people they have there, but its kind of like: If he DOES show up, maybe get some good wins to solidify yourself there, but give the younger guys a rub. If he DOESN'T, good for him and i hope he does VERY well with his promotion. But the Booker/Cage idea does sound delicious.
