Argh (Frustrations with the way Smackdown ended! Spoilers)
What the f>uck was up with the end of Smackdown. They had built up unity SO well the entire show. They made it look like Goldberg vs Lesnar was truly Raw vs Smackdown and they blew it! You can say "Oh, they were trying to build up that Smackdown's guys respect Austin", I still think that's stupid.
And don't even get me started on the fact that they made Brock look like Austin's bit>ch, despite the fact that Austin doesn't even wrestle anymore and Brock the one in the actual match. I'm so friggin dissapointed with that ending.

Agreed, I was saying to myself before how awesome that promo was his Heyman rallying the troops. But then they all backed down at the end. WTF.

Yeah that got me pissed with the ending, Lesnar should have been beating up Austin, not the other way around. Stone Cold is the REFEREE, not a wrestler in the match.

Maybe it's a reference to how everyone "dislikes" Brock.

Well wait a second. Remember Brock told management he was quitting the company earlier in the day before Smackdown was taped right? So, they probably changed thier booking plans to accomadate for the fact that Lesnar really wasn't all that, which we would probably hear them say next week on Smackdown if Lesnar loses at Mania. you get what I'm saying?

Another thing I didn't like about it was that there were so many people breaking character. Like, the cruiserweight open guys were standing side by side, and the Bashams/Rikishi and Scotty were near each other despite having a match 5 minutes before. I know they were trying to show unity, but it still made little sense IMO.
Also, I saw Matt Morgan out there. When the hell did he return? |

I dont know if I could stand the match that match this sunday. The only thing that keeps me going to see that match is the hope that Austin will stun Goldberg.

I agree that this was redone to possibly reflect Lesnar leaving. Basically, everyone abandoned Lesnar, which somehow hurt his feelings and resulted in his ditching or something like that.
It was kinda stupid, though. Austin totally punked out the entire roster. ![]() On the other hand... PAUL LONDON WAS ON SMACKDOWN!!! During that segment... |

Hey, you know what that scene reminded me of, the part in the movie "Training Day" when the gang members all turn thier backs on Alonzo and let the cop guy go after him.

Actually, I think this is how they are going to start the renegade brand thing. Them turning their backs on Heyman because of their dislike for him, then the following week (or at WM XX), reveal that Vince was the one who told them to do that because he's sick of Heyman, and the following week "firing" Heyman, or at least really put him on the radar screen for teminiation. Either way, I thought the questions were one they were TRYING to pose as to why everyone did that.
Also, did you notice that this really became RAW vs. SmackDown (in the sense that both brands take pot shots at each other on their respective shows) the minute Heyman got involved in the storyline, whereas when Steph was still around, it was just a matter of each brand trying to put on a good show each week? That is another reason why I think they did what they did. To show how much the talent really don't care about this war. Or just that they had a common enemy in Lesner and Heyman. |

That was just dumb. I liked the feel all the way through...And they got to the end, and I was screaming "what?" more than the crowd during an Austin Promo. |

I didnt mind the ending.
Brock is so damn stale IMO and I wont be bothered when he leaves, so I really couldnt care less that Austin whipped his ass. I enjoyed it

I'm not sure why they're try to degrade Brock in the match being as both Brock and Goldberg are leaving. Maybe they're gonna have Austin take both of them out: Wouldn't suprise me.

Brock leaving
The whole situation of Austin (a non-wrestler) going over younger talent just
sucks, but it seems its going to happen. It happened with Jericho and Christian, and it is probably going to happen for a lot longer. This simply stems back to the issue that Austin was the guy who led the whole attitude era (so Vince favors him) and it has always been that rarely does anyone get anything on a face stone cold, with out getting it 10x in return (:cough cough:: HHH). Personally I was surprised he sold the F-5 in such a big way, since he rarely does things like that now a days. The focus in this match has defiantly shifted to Austin. This could be a reflection of both men leaving, I mean what is left for them to promote if both men are gone? maybe thats why its now all about what will stone cold do? If they are going to make Brock look weak, like they have in the last few weeks, why not at least put it to good use. I know there's a strong possibility Brock is leaving and if this is true why not have him put over Cena before he goes? They could simply pick up the rivalry where it left off. Cena really started to come into his own around the time they did the broken knee cap angle with Brock. I would have Cena win The US belt from Show, then have him run into Brock in the backstage area. Cena could taunt Brock about not having the belt. This could result in an angle where Brock claims Cena could never beat him and that US title might as well should be his. Brock could then steal the belt from Cena, carrying it around as if was his (I'm a sucker for the heel steals the belt angle al la raven-ddp). This could fued could then end in a loser leaves town match for the title, which Brock then loses. This will do two things, first it will elevate the US title just by having Brock carry it around, not to mention both of the most promising young talents feuding over it, second it will elevate cena as a serious upper mid-carder. . |

I guess I understand people's frustrations at the ending of Smackdown this week, but what would you have preferred? Austin comes riding in on his ATV and clears everyone away, jumps into the ring, beats the shit out of Lesnar, and then fights off the rest of the Smackdown roster as we go off the air? That would've made the SD! superstars look like a pussies if they couldn't even beat up Austin 40-to-1.
And then if they did end up beating up Austin it would just be stupid. Wow, a gangbeating to end the last show before WrestleMania XX. That would be exciting. Having Austin vs. Lesnar to end Smackdown gave us something that we've never seen before, and if the Lesnar rumors are true, that we'll never see again. The way the SD superstars let Austin walk by was kind of lame, but really, what would've been better? |
