Something Odd I Just Noticed...

...TNA's top roster includes Booker T, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash and Sting, plus Jeff Jarrett is never more than an "I-Feel-Like-It" from main eventing. Basically WCW from it's final years. TNA needs to change the ring. I, for one, feel that there aren't enough sides to it. 6 is only 2 more than the WWE. They should have at least 8, although 14 would be preferable. Also, TNA doesn't sound like the name of a rasslin promotion. May I suggest, WTNSANRWMMSWF, Wrestling that never stops and a ring with many many sides wrestling federation. Thank you, rasslin rocks!!

It's interesting, but could TNA convince anyone to jump? I think the most quasi-realistic (in a bizarre sense of the word "realistic"), would be some of the ECW guys, like Shelton Benjamin, John Hennigan, CM Punk and even The Miz.

These guys would need to choose the bigger fish in a smaller pond option, and they'd have to see some value in going to TNA, though. I could kind of see the attraction for them.

I used to watch tna for the x-division matches. Daniels, Styles and Joe rocked. TNA sounds like a name of a blue movie.

Honestly, I think TNA's best chance of a lure is John Hennigan. He's been pushed well, he's as homegrown as you can get (didn't even compete on the indies, to my knowledge), and he's got those amazing abs. Seriously, he was the most improved wrestler of 2006, and still continues to take strides to becoming great.

As for why he'd leave the WWE? Well, he's certainly been lost in the mix, a bit. He's currently teaming with someone he used to be feuding with, and he's now feuding with Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore. TNA would allow him to work the style he wants, and he'd fit in any of their divisions. He could also team with Joey Matthews again, as kind of a special attraction thing (like The Hardys earlier this year). You also occasionally hear of little tidbits regardining Hennigan's attitude (these were later placed solely on Melina, but you never know what kind of heat is swirling around), and JBL dicked Hennigan around recently.

I think he's probably the most likely of the unlikely to leave the WWE for TNA.

Basically, my real point is this: has TNA ever even attempted to recruit even a WWE midcarder who was secure and happy with his WWE position? Maybe if they managed to lure someone away that fans gave a shit about, they could actually have a bit of drawing power.

Let's just look at statistics.

TNA has Booker and Christian because they were dissatisfied with their WWE positions. They have Sting because he's never reached an agreeable deal with WWE. They have Steiner and the Dudleys because WWE fired their asses. They have Nash because... I'm not really sure why, a call to HBK or HHH could probably land him a spot. So I can only assume he's there to leave the Kliq's stamp on the place. And they have Jarrett because of family considerations. I'm not proposing all-out talent raiding, but maybe one coup or two could serve to yank some actual interest without letting it cool off.
The problem is that Vince has wisened up A LOT since the mid-90's in terms of keeping his guys under contract. You saw what happened with Carlito just recently. The guy was miserable, hasn't been used for anything even remotely important in ages, but from the sounds of it, Vince went to some lengths to keep him under contract.

So, the only guys who do actually leave the WWE and look for other waters HAVE to be guys who are unhappy with their contracts. I mean, when Hulk Hogan came into WCW it was because he wasn't happy in the WWF anymore. If he still had a top spot and was guaranteed to be the top guy for another few years, you're damn right he would've stayed. But WCW was not only offering more money than WWF, they were offering more power and a better spot to someone who wasn't happy where they were before.

The same can be said about TNA's current biggest star, Kurt Angle. He wasn't happy in his old spot, in ECW; he wasn't happy with the road schedule, and he was drawn out to TNA. Booker T did the same thing.

Vince is too smart to let his mid-card guys go; even the ones who are being beckoned by the hand of TNA.

I could be wrong, but Nash is alway a step away from an injury. *buh-dum-chum* And isn't incredibly active in the ring when he is there. And WWE doesn't like male managers, so he wouldn't have a whole hell of a lot to do in WWE. Plus there is that whole getting to sleep in his own bed every night that TNA affords him.

But I agree with everything Darth bring up.

He would be pretty damn great as a GM that couldn't be physically intimidated though. He'd be cooler than Bischoff (who leeched most of his character personality from Nash anyways) and wouldn't turn into a pussy like E did.

I look forward to Kevin Nash's eventual Hall of Fame induction speech.

In TNA, he should replace Jim Cornette as the on-air authority figure of TNA. If he was in the WWE, a spot as RAW General Manager would fit him. Actually, all things considered, right now the General Manager line-up is really weak. William Regal is greatness, and should be wrestling; Armando Estrada just does not feel right in the position to me; and Vickie Guerrero is not exactly amazing in her role. I'd mark out for Nash replacing either one of them.

To be honest, I'd rather Nash on RAW, because then he can also do colour commentary on Heat, and it won't matter as much that he doesn't add to the matches, and it just gives you a reason to watch for the hilarity. Kevin Nash for RAW General Manager; Josh Mathews & Kevin Nash for Heat commentators.
