Magnificent Seven (WCW)
Trying to find more information on this, there doesn't seem to be alot about. For example inwebsites that list factions, they rarely appear.
From what I can tell: Ric Flair brought together most of the top heels at the time (Scott Steiner w/ Midajah (sp)/Jeff Jarrett/Buff Bagwell/Lex Luger/Animal and wikpedia notes Rick Steiner? Not sure on Rick Steiner because the Nitro after Sin, that I've seen bits of, has him going against the faction alligning with Nash and DDP. Does anyone know of any sites that has the chronology of the group from formation up until the buyout? I know they're porbably not a well liked faction but the general idea doesn't seem too bad even if the execution may not have been the best. Quote:

I watched at the time and I'm normally quite good at remembering useless junk, but I barely remember this stable.
I've got a sneaky feeling this stable wasn't actually that bad though. |

They started taking out the main eventers from what I've read. Sting(?), Goldberg (lost to Totally Buff at Sin in a tag match with The Sarge with a retirement stipulation attached), Sid (broke is leg at Sin), Booker T(?) and feuded with Nash/DDP/The Cat.
Would like to know more about it all though. |

The group was...
Ric Flair Scott Steiner (World Champ) Rick Steiner (eventually US Champ) Jeff Jarrett Lex Lugar Buff Bagwell Animal Plus they had a couple of hoes hanging around with them. Anyway it kind of formed because Ric Flair was CEO, and at Sin (I think that was the January PPV) Steiner, Jarrett and a mystery guy were going to face Sid in a World Title match. Big reveal; Animal...and no one cared. Basically they all gangbanged on Sid until his leg snapped. Scotty retains, and over the next few weeks Ric Flair kind of reveals as the mastermind behind it all. I think it was like a month or so later that Rick joined up (by turning on Nash in a tag match), Buff and Lex more or less got thrown in as ass kissing to Flair since he was CEO. At one point I remember them teasing than Animal was going to leave the group, and I think there was even a point when someone was randomly laid out. The main purpose was to feud with the main baby at the time and make it seem like they overcame 7 not just one; Sid, Nash and Booker. To be honest I think the angle had some potential, but it's entire run is so overshadowed by the death of WCW, that a lot of things from around that time just kind of disappeared; like the Cruiserweight Tag division or Kid Kash's undefeated WCW career. |

Yup The One is right. Rick Steiner was against them at first. But then in Feb in a Handicap World Title Match Rick turned on Nash when he had Steiner beat and helped Scott retain the title.

I also remember they had mock funerals on several guys. I know they did it for Nash, Booker, DDP, and I think Sid.

You must be thinking of Jason Jett (EZ Money) who did defeat Kash in their last WCW match. |

Helms is right, I was thinking about Jason Jett...and did get them confused.
Yeah Kash made his WCW debut on the last Thunder in a losing effort to Jett who was 3-0 when the company got bought out. Nice catch Helmsy. |

For some reason I like the WCW 2001 time period, they actually looked like they would have sorted themselves out were it not for circumstances outside of the actual wrestling.

Yeah, WCW didn't drop them, I was saying that it was overshadowed by the near drawing death of WCW. No, as I remember it Rey and Billy became the 2nd champs of the division on the last Nitro. But it's one of those things lost in wrestling trivia history, much like the Mag. 7.

And on that note we end another chapter of TPWW Asks. Thanks to everyone involved on behalf of your host Mackem, I'd like to say goodnight and have a MAGNIFICIENT tommorrow.

It was a cool concept, but like One said it came during a bad time. Scott Steiner was the top heel and champ during this angle and if you guys recall, after each feud with whomever the main babyface was at the time, he and his group would stage a funeral for that particular babyface. I think Goldberg, Sid, Nash, maybe Sting and Booker T too all had funerals. Pretty funny.
