How stupid must Jeff Hardy feel.

You'd have to think that CM Punk's title win would have been Jeff's had he not fucked up so badly.

Well, I'm not sure if Jeff will really be looking at the ramifications of this. I mean, if he was, he wouldn't have screwed up his push by risking a suspension in the first place. Jeff knows that a WWE Title is coming his way eventually, and he probably needs to be in dire danger of getting released to actually get into gear and put forth his best.

Jeff Hardy being where he is might sort of be an inevitability for him.

Yes, I thought the same thing. They prob wanted a new first time champion aka the MITB winner, to kick off the new incarnation of Raw and to get one of the World titles off of Smackdown without being too predictable.
I've got to think that had Jeff not been suspended, he'd have obviously won MITB and this likely would have gone to him.
Of course, we all knew he'd win the belt so it woudln't be as much of a shock for him to become champion, just the timing.

Jeff Hardy really isn't a concern for WWE. He doesn't have to be. They have the wellness policy in place and if he gets caught again he'll be fired. Firing him serves as a way for WWE to say "we believe in our policy and we stick by it". It doesn't matter what his position is at the time so they can push him / bury him as much as they want. At the end of the day if he gets himself fired, it plays out kinda well for WWE. Not as well as the money he can make for himself and Vince but I would say WWE have no real problem with regards pushing him.

I'm a fan of Jeff Hardy but if he gets fired, then unless he
gets framed, its all his fault.

Is there anyway a period of good standing can reduce your violation by one strike? I mean, whats the deal with the policy anyways. If he's clean for a year and pisses dirty in a year he's gone?
Does the policy prohibit WWE from re-signing a talent released for wellness violation?

Too bad Jeff is on SmackDown!

Jeff Hardy fucked himself and will never get the WWE title. WWE isn't going to put the belt on a guy who will get fired if he fails one more test.

It is real similiar to the way I have no sympathy for RVD. He fucked up after he finally got what he deserved and wanted for years (he would have gotten it sooner if he would have shut his mouth).

I agree with you on Jeff's case, but RVD's? Come on, man. That was fucking stupid for them to pull both of his Titles so fast. It was just weed. If anything, they should have kept the belts on him and gave him an attitude like "Yeah, I got arrested, but who cares?" and turned him heel in a feud against Cena. They should have used that shit to propel him and make the show more mature and make light of the situation.

You're telling me that in the year 2000 we're still so fucking sensitive about weed that we're ashamed when we find out that someone in a championship position smokes? It's not like he's promoting alcohol, which kills thousands of people every year, and which was already done in the past by Stone Cold and the Sandman. No, he's not promoting anything, he's simply acting as a kind of billboard for positive thinking on weed, he's not saying anything, but he's been labeled as a pot head. But big deal. Why can't he be the pot head WWE Champion? Being high and getting high has always been part of his gimmick and part of his deal, WWE is just too scared to utilize that and make him more interesting.

Rant over.

It isn't the weed that is the problem, it is the fact he had any kind of drugs him. How is being arrested while high any different than flunking a drug test?

In fact Jeffs case seems less severe. At least his reasoning for juicing up was regarding his size for his career whereas RVD was just smokin up.

But that's to be expected for him to have drugs on him! I would be surprised if it were any other way. RVD ISN'T smoking pot? That's absurd! RVD 4:20, baby. It means he just smoked your ass. Nobody gets higher than RVD. It's his thing! And once again, weed isn't that bad. Certainly not as bad as meth or coke...

Ahem. And not as bad as the potential dangers of roid rage...

But it's just the American government that pushes it on us and forces us to believe that pot is a bad thing, when it does have medicinal value, and it does have positive effects, and it's not a drug that's killing people.

RVD was a victim of politics - Jeff Hardy is a victim of himself.

I dont fully know where I stand on this too be honest but too say its a drug not killing people is absurd.

I am sorry but my family is caring for extanded family of ours at the moment who were neglected and left for dead because "Mum" and "Dad" were too obsessed with there pot habit.

It may have medicinal purpose and good uses but like any drug it is addictive and if you let it, it will destroy lives.

Actually pot isn't addictive. It is easier to kick that habit than it is to quit cigarettes or alcohol or any other drug. Addiction is when you and/or your body tells you that you need to do whatever it is that you are addicted to. Potheads smoke because they want to, not because they need to.

Also Jeff's violation is way worse than RVD's. Whether it was roids or painkillers or whatever psychedelics he was on, he was messing with bad shit and you could see it in his performance.

It was point blank hypocritical of the WWE to punish RVD. Last time I checked they also had that policy that tells their employees to never break character, including outside of work. Seeing as they always pushed him as a hippie pothead, I believe his actions were well within the confines of his character.

Uhhh... I don't think anyone could see it in Jeff's performance the past two times he's been caught violating the Wellness Policy. Considering Jeff's performances were getting the best ovations and reactions in the whole WWE Universe at the time of his suspension.

I'm sorry to hear about that, but it sounds like Mum and Dad are useless, lazy, pathetic examples of human life, and it is their characters and morals (or lack thereof) that are to blame for the neglect of their loved ones - not pot.

A perfect example of scapegoating, Sting Fan. Stupidity destroys more lives than pot does.

Rant over.
I'm not going to get into the whole pot debate, and I actually think that the WWE taking the WWE Championship off Rob Van Dam when he was pulled over with an illegal substance was a fair move. RVD was set to drop the WWE Title to Edge anyway, I believe.

That being said, I think the WWE was far too hasty taking the ECW Championship off Van Dam. ECW always had a different image to the WWE, and the idea, especially at this point in time, was to fly using the "extreme" view of ECW. Kurt Angle was working a vicious style, Big Show was destroying people and busting out new moves, and guys were just kicking it up a notch and ECW was running shows in ECW's stomping grounds, trying to draw off the cult phenomenon.

Taking the ECW Title off RVD because he was caught with pot was a WWE move, when the belt probably should have been handled with ECW gloves, even though it was under the WWE umbrella. A long, rewarding reign for Van Dam might have been a bit silly, but taking the ECW Title off him as early as they did arguably damaged the image of the new ECW pretty early on.
