Tugboat Shoot/Wrestlemania 8

So I watched Tugboats shoot the other day. Great shoot for anybody who watched back in the day. Nice guy. I wasn't going to review it, but I might as well post some tidbits from it while I'm posting this:

*He was known as Big Bubba early on, which confused some of the territories because Bossman was also Big Bubba. One city advertised Bossman Bubba as the one wrestling one night and they had a picture of Tugboat Bubba on the flyer.

*Said he loved riding with Iron Shiek when nobody else wanted to ride with him. Said he made life on the road fun.

*Said Piper was a bit aloof when he was there. After his Hollywood thing, he came off as being better then everyone else.

*Said he loved when Orndorff kicked Vader's ass in WCW, which resulted in his firing. Tugboat called Vader an ass and said he was the one that started everything.

*Said he was suppossed to feud with Yoko when Quake left, but that got scrapped because he had another business as a bar manager in Florida I think. This is when he left.

*Great segment about Shockmatser. You guys know the story

*Dusty came up with the Uncle Fred gimmick in WCW.

*He says he respected LOD, but they were kind of assholes because they didn't want to drop the belts to them. They agreed to drop them to the Beverly Brothers and then Natural Disasters took them.

*Regards Quake in the highest light as I'm sure most of you knew.

*His brother in Law is Jerry Saggs. did not know that.

*His other Brother in Law was the bodyguard that was killed in the plane crash with Aaliyah.

*Doesn't agree with all the highspots today and how everyone blows thier load all at once in matches. Mentioned guys like Hardy. He says guys need to slow down and save some of the big moves for greater shows. Agree, but that's a lost cause.

*Says he watches the shows every now and then today.

*Now on to my topic. At Wrestlemania 8, Natural Disasters took on Money Inc for the belts. Now, Fred (Tugboat) stated that Vince called for them to "go home" as they were coming down the isle. Vince wanted the match to end that quick as they were on time constraint. Dibiase was the one that stood up and said "no, we're getting our shit in." The match went 8 minutes roughly. Vince went off at them when they came back.

So I wonder how long Owen/Skinner was suppossed to go as that was the match right after and I also wonder if that played a part in screwing up Papa Shango running in in the main event.

WM 8 was a very short WM compared to others.

I remember going to a house show around 1993 that was supposed to be Yoko (c) v. Quake but then Typhoon showed up and won via count-out. I wondered if they were testing the waters for that feud then, or if Quake had already left or what. I think Yoko had attacked him on Raw or Superstars recently? Not sure.

WM8 was the most poorly executed affair imaginable.

Like what? I cannot for the life of me remember anything about it, other than some of the billed matches.

Macho Man winning the WWF Title was good moment, Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper was a decent match - great psychology, Hogan vs Sid was decently built up, Jake Roberts vs Undertaker was quite good.
