Angry i'll say it

i have a feeling that this will be an unpopular opinion. i also have a feeling someone will say (and i'm using a little bitchy voice) nnnnnnnnuh....somebody already said that on this forum before...unnnnhh!

well, guess what. on RAW in particular, the draft lotto FAILED to shake things up (as it concerns the world championship, anyway).

so what i want to say is the wwe needs to realize that the BRAND EXTENSION
is a FAILURE and is no longer a good idea, and just stop the f-ucking madness.

remember how before the brand extension, (when it came to main events) there was like a core of established stars: rock, austin, angle, taker, show, HHH. if the brand extension was supposed to remedy that, it has FAILED. NOW their is about the same number (OR LESS) of main event contenders-but now they're split up on two different rosters. on RAW, other than HHH or HBK, who else has a legitimate chance of winning the title ove Benoit? on SMACKDOWN you got Show, Taker, Booker T.

i know, i know........"nnnnnnnuh....what about new guys like john cena and randy orton?! the brand extension allows new talent to be elevated..." wrong. ever notice how much bitching you read about peoples' favorite new star being buried and not given a chance to shine. would john cena have gotten his push if there was just one roster. i say YES, but with a couple of excepions. he probably would not have made a [premature] face turn. his in-ring performances would probably be improving instead of getting SPOTTIER.

and i say f-uck those WCW titles. world title(wwe), i-c title, tag titles, light-heavyweight title, hardcore title, and womens title. thats plenty!

bottom line is with one roster there would be alot more possibilities for plots and angles, alot more contenders for the various titles, maybe between the two brands they could muster a decent tag team division, and there would always be a pool of heel and face main event contenders so we wouldnt be posting threads like: "so do you think the champion or the only viable contender should turn heel before the next ppv?"

Vince is content with keeping two shows. At this point,I don't think they will ever go back to just one whole thing.

Well it seems triple h is ALWAYS gonna be in the title scene no mattter what. Basically makes main events dull because you know anyone but him is only gonna have the belt a few months before ol big nose gets it back again.

I don't get why it seems impossible for wwe to take him out of the title scene for a while, im sure everyone is getting pretty bored seeing him in practically every main event, only time in the last few years we didn't have him in the main event was when he blew out his quad.

If he hasn't been in the main event, he's always been high up on the card. But since the roster split PPV's, yeah, he has been in every PPV Main Event, and sadly, he will probably stay there, and we'll have to deal with it.

taking HHH out of the title seen would seem a lot more doable if there was just one roster and not like one or two world title contenders on each roster.

I ain't a fan of the brand split either personally. However, the lottery did get them their highest rating in years.

It's because of guys like Triple H and Shawn Michaels that there ARE only two or three World title contenders on each show. On Raw you have Chris Jericho, Christian, Randy Orton, Batista, Scott Steiner, Rhyno, and others who should be in the World title picture but haven't been. Jericho hasn't been a contender since August and Orton, Christian and Batista have NEVER been contenders. On Smackdown! you have John Cena, and now Booker T, Rob Van Dam who should be contending constantly. They've only really had one big push themselves. Booker got his big Wrestlemania push only to be buried by Triple H, and he hasn't contended since. Rob Van dAm got a PPV title amtch but lost, then ahd World title match against Triple H on Raw but lost to a DDT in the msot BORING match of the year, thanks to good ol' Trips. Triple H badly needs to go make a movie ro something, so other guys can move up in the ranks and have their chance to shine.

Now is NOT the time to end the brand split. You do that, you:

*Kill Chris Benoit or Eddie Guerrero's "Top Guy" position, as one will have to lose their "Champion" title.

*Kill John Cena or Randy Orton. One will get to keep a secondary belt and the title of "Next Big Thing," the other slips back into early-'03 territory.

*Bury the cruiserweights further. Double the heavyweights = Half-time for cruisers.

*Eliminate half the contenders for the titles, because no one is going to believe (with the way things have been written for the last four years) that there can be more than two or three viable contenders for each title. So, gone is Booker T's title push, only to be replaced by more HHH/HBK/insert-other-wrestler-here PPV main events.

The brand extension has gone on so long that dropping it now would be catastrophic to any semblance of momentum they've built up. It would be like when WCW "started over" when Bischoff and Russo took joint control of the booking. Exciting shows for a couple of weeks, then chaos ensues and no one knows who anyone is anymore, ratings bottom out, and we're back in the wrestling dark ages.

Let's face it folks, the brand extension hasn't always been a good thing, but it's better than any alternative that's out there now.

So stop saying "End it now."

Well, remember how high the Katie Vick segment got, ratings-wise. Is it because people wanted to see HHH humping a corpse, or because people didn't know what was coming?

Ratings in the following weeks would indicate option 1.

You can't really tell how well executed a segment is based on the ratings it gets. The ratings tell you how much interest was garnered coming into it, IMO. In this case, you had stars from both brands on one show, and a promise to rock the WWE to its very foundation. That alone should have provided a pretty big ratings boost.

If the ratings go immediately back to normal in the next week or so, then it's pretty obvious the interest was killed off by the execution.

Well, right now SmackDOWN is in the midst of what can prove to be a very productive new star producing time. I wouldn't definitely not end it now, because it finally seems to be about to work. Give it another two years.

Brand extension isn't the problem with the company. The inability to create new stars is what has hurt the company.

If you notice on RAW its almost impossible to create a new star. You could say Benoit, but wait a couple of months to see what happens with him.

At least on Smackdown Brock and Eddie have been made legit main eventers. Unfortunately Brock left, so now they are short a guy, but you can see on Smackdown that its easier for guys to get to the top because they dont have a certain roadblock in their way.

If you bring the rosters together this is what will happen:

HHH, HBK, and Taker would get the top three positions on the card. Angle, Eddie and Benoit would take up secondary top spots. And then guys like Cena and Orton would be stuck in mid card spots. On top of that a ton of guys would lose their jobs. Bringing the rosters together would do no good for the guys, and it would kill any chance of creating so-called dream matches.

Also, he really wasn't created on Raw, per se. He never would have gotten the build needed to get the fans behind him on Raw, IMO.
