Bring back the credibility and importance of managers...
I think the WWE should bring back the old days where managers were extremely important to the success of a superstar. Remember when Bobby Heenan used to manage?? He was a force to be reckoned with; he'd call out advice to the wrestler during the match, yell at a referee for a bad call, and distract whoever needed to be distracted at the time. It was awesome. The WWE has a bunch of potential guys that could make great managers if they built up the credibility of what a manager is and is used for. And I'm not talking about people like Stacy that just show thier ass every once in awhile. I'm talking about ingenius guys and women that are great on the mic, great in vignettes, and great at ringside. They have some managers around now but they don't do as much as they should. These are some people that I think do/would manage awesome.
Teddy Long- Already is a manager and I think he's damn good at it; he just needs to do more. They could build him to be one of the most respected managers around if they want. I say team him up with Booker T on Smackdown right now, that would be the best bet. It would boost Booker to the main event, make him an extremely credible heel, and give him more material and mic time than he already has. Teddy has a way that makes you want to watch the guy that he's with.. Book is already watched alot but Teddy would make him bigger than he is now. Heyman- Again. Already used to be a manager and could be played off as a man who is feared by the roster due to the influence he has over his clients. I say (like in the other thread) that he should either be with Rhyno over on Raw or with RVD on Smackdown. Either way everyone would win on this one. Neither RVD or Rhyno has great mic skills but Heyman has some of the best mic skills of anybody in the sport of wrestling so it would all balance out very nicely. With the athletics of RVD/Rhyno and the mind of Heyman, they could rule the world. Trish Stratus- I like the way this whole thing with Christian is going. She needs to be more involved in the wins of Christian though. I think she should play it off all innocent and flirty with Xtians opponents early in the matches and have Xtian act like he's getting jealous. Then later on in the match Trish gives the guy a low blow and Xtain wins. Then mass making out after the match. It would solidify the angle, give Xtian wins, and give Trish credible manager status. Al Snow- Al's wrestling carreer and popularity is pretty much gone in the WWE. Instead of being a commentator I say he should manage. He knows alot about the game and isn't afraid to get in there and cheat every once in awhile. I say he'd be good to manage an up and comer like Maven or Mark Jindrak. We wouldn't forget Al, and the newcomers would be comin on strong. Tazz- Somewhere down the line...if they aren't going to use him in the ring anymore than they should use him at rinside. I can totally see him managing for a main event star in the future like Orton. He could use his in-ring experience to see the young talent through the matches and such. Also, cheat because cheating rules... Thoughts? Ideas? |

Teddy Long should become a good manager again, cut the racist shit. "Let Me Holla At Your Playa" is dumb.
Heyman should manager someone like A-Train, not RVD. He should take A-Train and Heinreich and make something out of them. Not established stars. Christian should be able to win on his own. Trish should trip legs, distract ref, and help Xtian up when he is thrown to the outside. WWE can not use Tazz in the ring anymore. Tazz is retire.... his neck is destroyed. TAZZ MANAGING ORTON? Are you insane? Orton is already over. Managers are used to get people over. I can see Tazz managing Orlando Jordan |

yeah, good times with the managers like when the face had the heel beat and the ref slid down to where his feet were hanging out of the ring so the manager could pull them out before 3

I agree a bit. At Wrestlemania when Paul Bearer was at ringside for the Undertaker he didn't even do anything. Back in the day he always used to use the urn to try and give power to the Undertaker. OK it was unrealistic but at least he done something.

There are a lot of great (and potentially great) male and female
managers out there today. Unfortunately: A} Vince McMahon thinks that male managers have no place in the business anymore today (yet he has Teddy Long on TV); & B} The male managers on the indy scene are often underutilzed. You can accompany anyone you want to ringside, but if they do not work you into spots,etc...then you are of no use,and it ma- kes you look bad. |
