Brock Lesnar on ESPN's E:60

(I did a search and didn't find a topic, but sorry if I just plain missed it, or if this is more of a Sports Forum thing.)

http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/...81270&n8pe6c=2

I thought this was interesting in retrospect, looking at Lesnar's career juxtaposed to his time in the WWE. When he left, we were all pretty pissy, called him stupid, selfish, etc... etc... But really, he had pretty legitimate reasons.

Of course, based off this interview, we can also tell that Brock Lesnar:
- Is still a cocky guy full of confidence in his own strength and athleticism
- Is still a little immature, based on how he totally walked out of the interview when the steroids topic was... not even directly brought up, but suggested
- Had legit reasons for leaving the WWE
- Is being pushed in UFC for the same reason he was pushed in the WWE: recognition and buzz

It's also funny to see Goldberg pop up, and also Bret Hart give a few words. He's aged to the point where I think he resembles Shawn Michaels a lot. You could pass both on the street and not realize they weren't the same person until you gave a second look.

But yeah, looking back at Lesnar now versus how the reaction was when he left the WWE, how do you feel about the whole thing, and has your opinion changed?

I was a little disappointed when he left WWE, but now the possibility of him becoming a huge name in UFC has got me excited for him. (nohomo)

He was selfish for leaving WWE the way he did. I'll watch the thing later when I have sound.

Dunno, I imagine I'd get pretty sick of the steroid questions coming up every single interview. He's never failed a drug test, we can't leave it at that?

Fuck off was he. It was a job. And he quit a $2 million a year guarantee job to try out for a different sport where with no guarantee of any money. He quit a job he hated. How is this selfish? Would you work a job you hated if you could afford to quit? You're a fucking liar if you say you wouldn't. The only person Brock Lesnar needed to worry about was himself. He made Eddie Guerrero a superstar on his way out. Nobody else could have at that time.

Maybe being selfish includes having a self admitted problem with pain pills and vodka though.

1 - He was on steroids.

2 - There was no drug testing in WWE when he was there. Hard to fail a test when you aren't being tested.

I thought it was pretty funny when they interviewed Dave Meltzer from his room in his mom's house.

Yeah, that one had me laughing. And also because they titled him as Yahoo.com MMA reporter and not his more well known wrestling reporter for life.

Guess they had to show his job title that provided more credibility to the material.
