He's super...he's crazy...he's Super Crazy Quitting!
http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/supercrazyrelease08
source: Wrestling Observer Newsltter SmackDown wrestler Super Crazy (real name Francisco Pantoja Islas) reportedly quit the company at a show this past week. It came out of nowhere, and he is said to be unhappy with his status in the company. He's been been promised pushes a number of times, but they have never materialized. Senior Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis didn't take the news too well. Laurinaitis told Islas, "Do you know how many wrestlers in Mexico want to be here." Islas was telling friends that despite his low-level position with the company, he was happy with the pay, but unhappy with his job. Should WWE release Islas, he is eligible to collect three months of pay without working due to the non-compete clause, but he's willing to waive it because he simply wants to wrestle to the best of his ability. If he waives the non-compete clause, he is still not able to go to TNA for 90 days, but that's probably not his goal anyway. In an update to this story, his profile has been removed from the SmackDown section on WWE.com. ![]() ![]() http://www.yourfree360games.com/index.php?ref=232348 Sign up under me and receive FREE X-Box 360 games. I can understand his situation. Having the ability to entertain a crowd but losing to some 350 lb disposable moron every week is probably pretty frustrating.

Super Crazy in ECW was the goods. Nothing good really came from him being in the WWE except watching him in one of the more racist gimmicks WWE has done in past years.

I suppose he's been in the E for a few years and earnt enough to be comfortable, realised he's only got a few years left at his peak (if that) and decided to make best of his talents. Fair play.

Actually, KK raises a point that prompts me to ask...
Let's take Super Crazy as an example, and I assume the name "Super Crazy" is owned by the WWE, if he now goes to TNA, under US law, can he go by the same name but in a different language e.g. Loco Estupendo, without any copyright or trademark infringements? |

They'll just call him Lucha Joe. He'll fued with Kurt, Sting, or Nash, win the X title, get pushed to the main event, and then we'll forget about him as he's putting over Sharkboy.

Pretty sure he'll be able to keep Super Crazy, not a 100% but I think he used it prior to ECW...

Doubt they bothered to copyright Super Loco, which was his old ring name, so that should be fair game.
To be honest, WWE would find it hard to really justify restraining Crazy from using his own ring name considering he was using it long before WWE and they can't possibly benefit from keeping control of the name (if they even do own it). I know that the world doesn't always work like that, but really what do WWE hope to achieve by stopping SC using his moniker other than the hurt the guy and make themselves look like pricks? |

Then why did the Dudley Boys have to change their name? They used it far before WWE also.

Because it was an ECW creation and WWE bought ECW's assets.
Not that that makes it any fairer or less of a dickish move, but they were within their rights. I believe the name Super Crazy may also be an ECW creation, mind. Super Loco, on the other hand, not. |

Because management told him he was getting one. Multiple times. And no, He's not Rey Mysterio, but he's still one of the most popular lucha stars in america.

U-Warrior hit the nail on the head. He was apparently told several times he was getting a push. You have to believe that was the reason he was moved over to RAW for no reason at all. It never happened, and he wants to use his talents rather than not. More power to him.

The bad news is no more Super Crazy in WWE. The good news is, I'm finally getting my lawn cut on a regular basis again.

Seriously though, the guy can put on really great matches. But has he even had the chance to do so since he came to wwe? Beides ONS I can't remember seeing one match of his that was longer than 5 minutes, where he got to show what he can do.
When it comes down to it, his passion for the business, and wrestling for the fans is worth more than the prestige of wrestling for wwe, or the pay. Can't really blame him for that. |

There's a footnote I'd like to add, though, that a lot of wrestlers who have had names they used prior to WWE have literally signed their rights away. |

Also, being a popular lucha star in America is like winning the Special Olympics how? They're both far more prestigious than anything you will achieve? If he goes to TNA, he'd probably be able to use "Super Loco" as a name, unless he signed it away, but more important than the WWE controlling their trademarks is TNA's desire to create their own. Even if Crazy were allowed to use "Super Crazy," they'd probably come up with a new identity for him. |

And KK, I'm not saying his former popularity could propel him to main event status, but he could have very easily been a permanant IC or Tag Team title contender. He has the skills in the ring, and he has enough charisma and energy, to work around the language barrier. |
