That's pretty cool. I wonder how much it will cost though. There was talk of the Wii getting a BBC channel but I don't think anything ever came of it. Here's hoping this works out well.

That is rather good and just increases my desire for Microsoft to bring out an updated xbox 360 with an even bigger hard drive and make the fucker quiet.

There's no option to crotch chop the guy next to you

Oh well, this is pretty huge for me as the only way I'll be able to get Sky for next season is to get Virgin cable at like £45 a month (I rent and landlord won't allow me to switch from a BT line which would make it considerably cheaper - shared building so can't get Sky as there's no dish) - I only really want it for football and NFL anyway so this will probably (hopefully ) work out cheaper,

Yeah, if can I just buy all the football I need in better quality than Iraq Goals as I go, it'll work out much cheaper than actually buying Sky Sports. Even better if HD is available.

I have Sky Multiroom, and as such, I get the Sky Player service for free on my computer.

Hopefully this will occur with the Xbox. I already pay for Sky HD, 2 extra multiroom boxes... With the full channel package. Sky phone and Broadband. They can't make me pay for it, surely?

Not that I need it, like. If it can't offer more than my TV or Laptop then it's pretty useless to me.

I think it has an on-demand service for films, sports and tv shows. I know you'll deffinitly get it for free if you're already a Sky customer.

Pricing is out, even though I can't find anything about it on my Xbox dash.

Free if you're already a Sky customer with Multiroom

£15 per month for Sky Player
£19 extra per month for Sky Sports
£50 per month for Sky Entertainment, Sports, Movies and ESPN

+ an Xbox Live Gold account, taking the total to £53.33 a month for the whole package.

No HD because of the UK's antiquated phone lines, plus Sky probably want to save on bandwidth.

Oh, and I'll give wrestling fans fair warning. WWE currently DOESN'T allow viewers to watch their shows over the PC-based Sky Player, so don't get your hopes up for watching Raw, Smackdown and ECW on this service.

Oh, and you'll need a minimum 2Mb connection, which is bad news for me in the evenings on O2 Home Access

I was on my 360 when it was first put up and after installing it and a few error messages and waiting another 30 minutes, it began working smoothly. I could watch clips as a "preview" of the service including a live stream of Sky News. We can purchase individual episodes and judging by the pricing of Episode 1 of "Bender's Big Score" it'll be a few pence under 1.50 for an episode of something.

Weirdly enough the Sky Player has vanished from the dashboard, since.

I read an article last night saying the Sky Player was experiancing problems and had to be taken down. It said Microsoft hope to get it back up today but I don't see it happening.

If it's not on your dash, press the guide button in the middle of the controller, select quick launch.

If you've already downloaded Skyplayer, go to recently downloaded, and skyplayer should be there to launch.

Yeah, it's the same exact Sky Player service, just think of it as another device you can watch it on, it didn't even ask me to deregister any of the PCs I've activated it on.
