TNA getting better

I really liked TNA this week. I only caught the last half from the knockouts match on, but i thought it was realy well done. I think It's faster paced like Jarret beating Eric Young so quickly made it look like just a chance win by veteran move and if Eric Young fought him on a day when he was more ready could possibly beat him.

I don't think it's a one time thing. I read the spoilers and the next one looks great too.

Raven and shane douglas, aj styles and kurt angle, samoa joe and christopher daniels, great stars being used well.

Mick foley doing great promos. The camera angles are a little eh but that can be fixed. Commentary didn't even bother me.

But i was stoned.

I thought it was really good as well. I noted in another thread that last week's show was edited differently, and it was very reminiscient of an old-school ECW show. While there's still a lot of work to be done (the Samoa Joe-Angle thing is retarded) everything else on the show ranged from decent to very good. The EY-Jarrett and Styles-Daniels matches were both great matches.

Not to mention the Team 3D & Beer Money segment which I thought was VERY well done, and Beer Money were ridiculously over as faces.

Yeah styles daniels was classic, foley wanting to hold onto the title and only putting it up once a year because the executives tell him to and its good for business. Classic heel.

I remember watching TNA stoned once, and realising that The Main Event Mafia seemed far more face-like than the Frontline. That was ages ago, obviously.

TNA does seem to be getting better -- on paper. I'll have to watch it, though.

I watched a part of TNA in a group of about ten people while we waited for something to start on another channel. Comments made by differing people who had never watched TNA before.

'These guys are a bit behind WWF'

'Hey look it's that guy...Booker T'

'What happened to Kurt Angle?'

'When is there going to be some wrestling?'

'The British Bulldogs are still going?'

'Hey it's that guy from Gladiators'

'You can tell the one in the middle is the shit one because they won't let him talk.'

'What's in that case' (This was the Doug Williams ladder match. My answer was something like 'errr something but I don't think they know yet. I got a perplexed look back. Not sure if it's true or not but why would you fight over something which you don't know what is inside.)

'The crowd is small compared to WWE'

'Are these the guys that can't get jobs with WWE'

(on Sharmell attacking) 'Cos she wasn't just waiting behind the door waiting for her to say that!'

'How long is this video lasting' (It was a recap from Sacrifice(?) that did last a hell of a long time.)

Overall, I don't think they will watch it again.

for a company that has gotten this big in just what is it 7 /10 years, is amazing and it seem TNA is gaining speed like the train at the end of back to the future 3 when the docs packages blow up, they just have to be careful not to go back in time and put the 'old' style of wrestling that everyone hates on, acquiring raven and the franchise was a great move on their part but i have also heard that they are trying to get buff bagwell, wtf???

they should be investing in more 'up and coming stars' and not boring wrestlers that are only there because they were friends with russo and jarret in dub cee dubya

It has been getting better lately. The storylines (excluding Samoa Joe's) have been making more sense and most of the matches have been pretty awesome.

I like that Raven is back and seeing Victoria was awesome. Shane Douglas I'm not too sure about, but I'll have to wait and see. I also love that Amazing Red is back

Loving the Team 3D/Beer Money stuff. Can't wait for their next segment and match. They work very well together.

Not sure how I feel about the whole Suicide/MCMG/Lethal Consequences thing, but I am enjoying the Guns on the mic.

Foley has been cutting some great promos as of late. I was not a fan of him winning the belt, but I am interested to see where this goes.

Commentary still sucks, but they have a lot of good things going for them right now so I guess it balances out.

Overall, TNA has been good the past few weeks. I hope it continues.

Initially I didn't like that Eric Young lost, but the mini-turn (that hopefully won't be "forgotten" next week) swayed me a bit.

I am also interested to see what happens with the MEM/Frontline and if it picks up again.

And Samoa Joe is still a fat sack of crap.

In TNA the heels and faces aren't as clear cut. A heel can do face like things to help themselves or vice versa. IT's actually a little deeper than I thought.

Boy what a let down. I read the title of this thread and naturally thought that TNA was done with. About the only way for it to get better right now.

At one time or another I really like each of the members of MEM......like ten years ago. Kurt is probably the only one that I enjoy, but really started liking him less about the time that he had his wife on TV over a year ago and he has gone down since.

Like some one else said, they need to develop their young talent instead of bringing in the Geritol crew. Shane Douglas, Raven...come on. There in their 40's now aren't they? I liked them in 1995.

I guess that it makes sense TNA being in Florida. Isn't that the # 2 spot for retirees to move too? Easy to pick up more wrestlers.

Mick Foley, didn't care that much for him in the WWE, but didn't dislike him. Now I turn the channel.

Do we really need to see the background cat fights with Sharmell and the survivor chick?

They need to have a good mix of old timers to help develop the talent, but all the do is show the old folks in interviews and don't even wrestle much.

I hear that Harley Race, the Great Morocco and Big John Studd will be making their TNA debut next month.

With all that said, I hate to say that I still have turned in to see if it does get better because I do like alot of the talent.

For my money, Foley is doing brilliant work as a heel. He's taken a few cues from his anti hardcore and sellout gimmicks and he's running with them really well. I completely take back my previous post of how to save TNA, because I've been watching and I really think that overall it's a good product. Get rid of Sharmell and it will be even better (she serves as a prime example of why 90% of wrestlers wives should stay as far away from the product as they can).

TNA is deffinately improving. I think the way the current programmes are working out as mentioned above are the makings for some really good matches. If nothing else, the non-elites of TNA are hungry to have the best matches they can all the time, and if they are in the right feuds, then at least the only worries will be the writing.

I watched TNA this week. It wasn't horrible. It's certainly not on SmackDown! or ECW's level, but it's better than RAW. Man, their shows feel stacked. So much shit happens on them. I can understand what they are trying to do by having so many storylines, not so many black and white faces, and all that jazz -- but it does need better execution. Right now, it seems the characters are blurred, which can work, but they're not too deep.

Generally it was enjoyable as a time-killer, but nothing you can't miss. I feel that it does make me want to see their PPVs, though. That's something the WWE can't really do. Slammiversary already has the King of the Mountain with Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett and AJ Styles planned, as well as Team 3D defending their titles against Beer Money. I would be interested in both those matches. Plus, general laws in wrestling say we are heading towards Raven or Dr. Stevie vs. Abyss and Daniels vs. Shane Douglas, which should be interesting from the promo-side, at least. Oh, and Angelina Love vs. Victoria, which will be both hot and fun.
