What if Jeff Hardy signed with TNA?
Don't really have much to say about this, but it's been a thought that has been haunting me for the last couple of days. Jeff Hardy's WWE contract is coming up, and Hardy is reportedly not too keen on re-signing. He obviously as some love for the business, given that he's done some insane shit in it for so long. He's probably feeling a little worn down, but what if it isn't from the business in general, but just the WWE schedule that limits him from doing other things?
I can at least see TNA making Jeff Hardy a sizeable offer. The guy just fits the chaotic programming that they put forward, and is a licence to print money. TNA would be foolish not to at least try in signing Hardy back to their team. They've managed to get Bobby Lashley, who was quite worn out on wrestling with the WWE, and he's got an MMA career that he's also worrying about. If Hardy just showed up for a few dates a month, he could make a lot of money, keep himself in the spotlight, and then go do some drugs or paint pictures with his extremities, or something. Some questions to consider: 1) How likely is it that Jeff Hardy would go to TNA? 2) What exactly would it mean to the company? 3) Would you personally care? 4) Because his contract is expiring, and not because he was released, does he still have the no compete clause to worry about? Pfft |

If you have watched his documentary, thou shall know that he loves to perform at Mania.
Some questions to consider: 1) How likely is it that Jeff Hardy would go to TNA? => Next to Christian winning the WWE title. 2) What exactly would it mean to the company? => Money and Merchandise sales. 3) Would you personally care? => No. 4) Because his contract is expiring, and not because he was released, does he still have the no compete clause to worry about? => I don't know. ![]() |

I think his relationship with the WWE is probably the biggest obstacle. They do love him, and whenever Jeff Hardy wants a payday, I can imagine he'd be able to call Vince and say "Hey man, want me to jump off a ladder at the next PPV for a bit of cash?"
I'm sort of hoping that they manage to get Jeff Hardy back on a part-time basis for WrestleMania 26: Edge & Christian vs. The Hardy Boyz, perhaps for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship. Add that to Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H, The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho and CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against a top face (dare I say it, perhaps 2010 Royal Rumble Winner John Cena), Money in the Bank, and you've got half of your card set. He has cemented himself as a main eventer in the WWE. I don't see him going anywhere else. He is just probably taking time off because he is missing them drugs.

I don't see it happening.... he's just burned out..... he'll take some time off, do whatever he likes to do, then when he gets bored he'll get back in touch with Vince and an offer will be made..... would I care if he went to TNA? not really.... no a huge fan of his and as mentioned before, he didn't help them before, so by just winning 3 Titles would make him a TNA savior?? I don't think so

It has been said a million times before, but it bears repeating I suppose:
No one star will save TNA. The talent isn't the problem. The problem is how said talent is being used. As for the questions to consider: 1) How likely is it that Jeff Hardy would go to TNA? Not likely. If he's truly burned out, this will merely be an extended leave from wrestling altogether. He'll probably be back with the company in a year or two, or however long he feels like doing whatever it is he does in his free time. 2) What exactly would it mean to the company? Not much. Sure it would create a little buzz for a short time, especially among those who didn't know he was there previously (I'm sure there are some people), but ultimately it'd be like every other star who jumped. The only way I see it benefitting long term is if he's the guy who brings the X-Division back to the forefront (something they should be doing now anyway). 3) Would you personally care? Yes I would. I already watch TNA because I happen to like it (I think Show Off and I are the only two left here), and I am a fan of Jeff Hardy. 4) Because his contract is expiring, and not because he was released, does he still have the no compete clause to worry about? No. At least, he shouldn't. If his contract has run its course, WWE would not be able to enforce the clause because the agreement is finished. By releasing a star, the powers that be still have the right to enforce it because the deal ended on company terms. |

I like TNA alot for several reasons and I want it to succeed. I like jeff too I'd watch him in TNA the company has a deep and interesting roster If they could get their shit together booking wise itd be awesome A lot of their talent is miles ahead of the WWE and they could take advantage of the fact that the WWEs flagship show blows so bad lately. Hell, I look forward to matches featuring the Knockouts (they blow the divas out of the water) they could run a show on that alone and I'd watch but I digress sorry. |

Naturally, Jeff would single-handedly save TNA and bring their ratings through the roof. Just like Kurt Angle did.

He should join the Juggalo Championship Wrestling and form a "drug addict meets an alcoholic" tag team with Scott Hall.

According to wiki, he's been there twice in 2002-2003 and 2005-2006 and was the X division champ once.

In an early 2008 interview at inyourheadonline.com, Juventud Guerrera, who had been working with Waltman in AAA, claimed Waltman had recently tried to commit suicide due to depression.[19] This was confirmed by The Wrestling Observer, which reported that Webb had found Waltman hanging by his neck in his Mexico City apartment, on the verge of death. He was subsequently taken back to the U.S for treatment.
This might be after One Night in Chyna leaked. |

I see a lot of people taking the "Jeff Hardy will not save TNA and make them the top North American promotion" stance, but I don't recall anyone ever suggesting he would. I asked what it would mean. I'm not of the belief that one talent will save TNA, either.
Kurt Angle is no doubt a better professional wrestler than Jeff Hardy, but Angle was never the top merchandise mover in the company. How would people rank Jeff Hardy's popularity compared to Angle's? |

As I said, the only positive I can see is if Jeff reignites the X-Division. Besides that, his arrival will do as much as any other WWE cast off: create buzz in the beginning that will eventually die down and return to business as usual. That said, I think he will be more popular than Angle to the TNA fans. He's way over with the WWE crowd, and will take that overness with him to Orlando if he decides to return. |

He should just take 1 week off and return with a totally clean slate with regards to wellness.
Then he would be in a prime posistion to make shitloads of money, because they could then really get behind him as champ as he wouldn't be 1 violation away from being fired |

Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy is actually a feud that would make me care about Jeff Hardy, by the way. I mean, if done right, there are just a lot of differences and similarities between the two that could make a great story. But "if done right" is not something that TNA supports.
