yes i have to confess, normally i find musicals hammy, but this one i really liked. anyone else see it?

First off, if watching the film makes you gay, then all of the actors must be gay for being in it, right?

Chicago was a decent movie. The musical itself is great, but they just didn't portray it up to it's potential. From a person who's actually been in Chicago before, the singing wasn't up to par and it just wasn't that great.

But, as for making you gay, no. I love musicals. Phantom of the Opera is the greatest ALW musical ever. Into The Woods is a great musical. As is Greese (not the movie, the actual musical. The movie sucked). Just because you like a musical doesn't make you gay.

Well, there are some things that you like that I'm sure I don't....doesn't mean that I'm going to call you gay. Musicals are a large part of the performing arts. I've been in numerous musicals, including but not limited to, "Chicago", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "Phantom of the Opera", "Grease", "Into the Woods", "Little Shop of Horrors", "Mamma Mia!", "Oklahoma", "Guys and Dolls". tours.....I also have the soundtrack sitting around here somewhere; not
from the movie,but the musical.

Chicago had Oscar buzz about it before it was even released. And the reason it was in limited release initially, was because the official opening of the movie was in January. But in order to be eligible for Oscar nominations, it was released in select cities in late December. But granted, once it did win Best Pic, it gained a lot more momentum and box office clout. But that does not mean it was in any way obscure before the Oscar nom and/or win.
