What's the deal with the Money in the Bank pay-per-view? They must be talking about Vince's bank with that price.

WWE has had a lot more ladder matches than usual lately. Probably had to do with Jeff Hardy being in the main event scene last year.

I personally like the concept fine at WrestleMania. But ah well. It implies to me that something funky will go down with the Money in the Bank briefcase this year. I expect it to be cashed in very quick, and mired with some controversy. For example: Drew McIntyre wins the match after Christian and perhaps one or two other faces make a grab for the briefcase, only for it to be elevated out of reach by rigging.

Or it could be that a face MITB winner decides to cash in his title shot ahead of time, which allows the WWE to name the PPV after the title shot (in kayfabe, of course). I hope that we get a WWE Title MITB title shot and World Heavyweight MITB title shot decided at the PPV. It shouldn't be too hard to put together eight RAW guys and eight SmackDown! guys for respective matches, surely.

If the holder of the case hasn't cashed it in yet by the PPV, they could go the route of forcing the holder to defend their case against 7 other guys.

Also, now that it's the main attraction of the PPV, and not a midcard feature at Mania, it's going to have a much stronger lineup

This is exactly right. I mean, you might actually see Triple H in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match at a MITB PPV.

April: Extreme Rules
May: Over the Limit (I think it's on the anniversary of Owen's death, as well)
June: Fatal Four Way
July: Money in the Bank
August: SummerSlam
September: Night of Champions
October: Hell in a Cell; Bragging Rights
November: TBA (the WWE have gone back and forth about whether or not to do Survivor Series this year)
December: TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs

I can't be bothered finding the exact dates, but there's a monthly outline.

TLC without Chairshots is gonna be dumb.

the C Should stand for something else..

CAKE!

Tables Ladders and Cake...and every match has to involve Maryse because she likes cake so much.

Maybe Money in the Bank PPV is a different scenario where wrestlers have to win an auction to face the Champion and if they win they get their money and the belt, but if the lose the champion gets it.

That would actually be called Put Up or Shut Up..arghh

Chairs are hardly used during TLC anyways. There's nothing stopping them from doing chairshots to the back, and protected shots.
Just because they're not blasting eachother in the head with chairs doesn't mean they can't still do the gimmick just as well

Never even really thought about that. But I could see them doing some sort of timed tournament, where people who beat a certain time then advance to a main event, which could be some sort of fusion between a Scramble Match and an Iron Man Match.

I actually kind of like the current PPV lineup with the exception of Fatal Four Way. Doesn't seem very exciting.

I'm a fan of Night of Champions. The way they handled TLC last year was pretty good.
Hell in a Cell is a bit overdone. I think it should be kept to one cell match on the card, but whatever.

I don't mind the gimmick PPVs, but I don't know how I feel about there being so many of them. It's a bit strange to have what gimmick matches will be used set in stone so far in advance. It's as if the fueds are booked around the gimmick matches, instead of the other way around.

How do you guys feel about this?

I feel exactly the same way, Jeri. I'd much rather get the surprise of an organic build towards an Elimination Chamber, Hell in a Cell or TLC Match. Fatal Four Way could even be a good concept if executed in an interesting manner. You could have three qualifying Fatal Four Ways for each brand at the PPV, with the winners then going into their brand's main event -- a Fatal Four Way for the WWE or World Heavyweight Title -- under elimination rules. Just an idea.

But yeah, I wish they would use better names.

I kind of like Elimination Chamber, because of how it fits into the Wrestlemania build as a tradition. It's the type of gimmick that is worthy of it's own event every year.

I feel the same way about Night of Champions. It's less of a gimmick, and more of an annual event. All it means is every title on the line. Love that. Even Money in the Bank feels like a great PPV idea to me, because it's a meaningful contest. It's like a replacement for King of the Ring in a way. It's not like every match on the card is going to be a MITB, so it's not overkill. It's just like having the rumble or king of the ring annually.

Extreme Rules is okay, because it could mean any number of things. It just means various types of hardcore matches. So that's an okay idea for an event.

The Rumble, Wrestlemania, and Summerslam are obviously great. I assume Over the Limit is a normal PPV, so that's good. I'd be happy if there were one or two more basic PPVs that they could book at will.

Hell in a Cell and TLC are the ones that stick out to me. They're great gimmicks, but they shouldn't be overdone and slated for one point in time. They're fued enders. I feel like they should use them at their own discretion. But I do realize that they're a draw and this is done in the interest of getting more PPV buys.

I'd be okay with one of them, like TLC. Since there's already an Elimination Chamber ppv, I feel like another cage match PPV is a bit much. I've criticized TNA for this in the past with Lockdown.

In WWE's defense, at least they only book a couple main events with the gimmick, instead of making it mandatory that every match on the card be of that type every time.

I was all for a WarGames ppv in the past, but now it feels like it would be yet another gimmick PPV and kind of overkill.
I wish they'd scrap Hell in a Cell for Halloween Havoc, and Bragging Rights could easily feature a WarGames given it's nature.

I feel like the November PPV should be a tournament. I don't care what the name is.

I've said this before, but I feel that this would be a great way to dip into some of the trademarks the WWE owns, and really produce a "must buy" season of PPV:

January: Royal Rumble
February: SuperBrawl (replacing the "Elimination Chamber" name)
March/April: WrestleMania
April: Backlash
May: Hardcore Heaven (replacing "Extreme Rules")
June: King of the Ring
July: Vengeance: Night of Champions
August: SummerSlam
September: Bragging Rights
October: Halloween Havoc
November: Survivor Series
December: Starrcade

Or something roughly like that. If you want to move Money in the Bank, you can. If you want to do Hell in a Cell at Halloween Havoc, you can do that, too. It just doesn't lock it in as a certainty.

So does anybody know the details of this ppv. Is every match going to be MITB? That wouldn't make any sense. Unless it's actually just money. I think making MITB an entire PPV kills the excitement when it comes time for Wrestlemania.

Yeah, every match on the card is going to be a MITB match. Even the Divas match. 6 MITB matches on one card.
