Would TNA work in New York?
From PWInsider:
In regard to several rumors making the rounds this weekend, there's nothing to TNA moving their TV Tapings to the Paramount Theater in New York City. That venue, the former WWF New York facility, currently houses the Hard Rock Cafe. I don't know where these things start but logistically, that one is impossible. --- Now, this thread isn't about this rumor, because it's obviously bullshit. However, it got me thinking, could TNA conceivably make, say, The Manhattan Center/Hammerstein Ballroom a secondary tapings facility? Maybe tape once a month from there, whether it be a taping or a PPV. I say secondary because, considering a lot of TNA guys actually live in or around Florida, it would be silly to move their operation at this point. But how do you think TNA would fare up in New York? Have to guess the fans would be brutal (but amusing) and that would turn Bischoff off from it. Also, why HASN'T TNA run the Hammerstein yet for a PPV, TV taping or even a house show? Even before the Hogan era? Seems silly to me for them not to run a building with so much wrestling history. ![]() |

I think the fans would be the primary reason not to do it. The New York crowd won't listen to somebody telling them to be more polite with their chants. They'll chant "You suck dick!" through the entire show, even if it means getting the taping stopped.

Hammerstein Ballroom is my favorite wrestling arena, and it has the same capacity as the impact zone, so i dont see why they haven't

They may not want to because of what the smarks think of their product.
Also, what makes you think it's an option? Just because the capacity is small, doesn't mean the venue fits. It may cost a lot to rent it out, compared to what they would make off of tickets. |

no chance in hell.... they would have to recreate there fanbase, which is fairly small to begin with.... they need to stay in Orlando and concentrate on better writing....

Doubt it. Ted Turner wouldn't step foot in the northeast when WCW was around. I believe they did a few shows in upstate New York but that was it. He did do Hartford, CT once and only once. And that was the show Ultimate Warrior made his debut with the company if I'm not mistaken.

Judging by the colder climate, you might see some fans wearing more layers of clothing whilst being bored by Hogan and Flair.

I can see it clearly. It would be Batista versus Big Show all over again

i think it's definitely a good idea for tna to start spreading out and having live shows across the country a bit more so they're not just located in the south. I know they have been a little bit, with the european tour they did earlier and (i think) they were in the midwest or west coast for a couple shows, i could be mistaken on that.

I liked to think I helped contribute to that Batista/Big Show match. Almost got tackled by security because the idiot next to me tossed his beer on the Big Show.
