More games should have more customisation.

Like, I get that not every game is about a faceless character you can make up on the spot. There are Niko Bellics and John Marstons and such, but why not at least give us style options?

Granted, they should be genre appropriate. Marston in a Hawaiin shirt would be dumb. but especially in games where you can choose what you do, why not give some better options in terms of what your character's style is? Yes, GTAIV had some options, but they were pretty limited. It doesn't have to be Saints Row 2 (Or Smackdown v Raw) level, but it would take so little to offer more choices we could run with.

Probably preaching to the choir here, but I was thinking about it just now, and there's a lot of precedent these days.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Was just going to mention saints row 2, loved how they worked that into the story.

AAny game you can play through as a Create-A-_____ doesnt really count.

Crackdown and Mass Effect had something of that extent though which was pretty nice.

Just hard to work a character into a story I guess if its based around a certain race/ethnic group.
