I remember Mid-South (I'm pretty sure they were under the USWA banner at the time) making a big deal about Jarrett getting "called up" to the "big leagues", and they had vignettes for weeks, including Jackie Fargo teaching Jeff the strut.

I'd say his best stuff came out of TNA. He was a joke in WWE & I just plum forget anything he did in WCW.

off topic a little, but Mid-South was bought by Crockett. They were not part of the USWA from what I recall. That was World Class, Memphis and CWA.

Whoops, yeah. CWA was what I watched at the ages of 12-16. They performed weekly at the Mid-South Colisseum, that's what got me all messed up.

I hated Jeff in WWE, in WCW, in TNA before his "founder of TNA" role.

I went and saw him like every tuesday night at the Louisville gardens for CWA/USWA when i was a kid.He had a really good feud with Robert Fuller(A.k.a. Colonel parker in WCW).Parker used to reffer to him as "An egg suckin dog" lol too funny. The matches were good as well.

I didnt really like "My World" at first, but with the character he use to portray it worked. I wanna say that Jeff is one of the few superstars, that has always had great entrance music in WWE, WCW and TNA.

Lawler was the man down there, along with his boy Brian,Bill Dundee, and Jimmy Valiant.Dutch was there for ever as well. We'd be at ringside and he would crack that damn whip right at us.It's very traumatic for an 8yr old.

What is there to appreciate about him? He was a star in his daddy's promotion in Memphis. He was mid-card at best in WWF (as he should have been). He was made the centerpiece of WCW, and WCW folded (to be fair, it wasn't all his fault, but it didn't help).
As for TNA, they finally realized what I meant when I said "Any promotion built around Jeff Jarrett deserves to fail." Unfortunately, the promotion is now built around Hulk Hogan. |

Everything he did when he was starting out was a blatant ripoff of Flair. All of it. Everything.

Yeah, I agree.. I hated the stuff in WCW, and a lot of it in WWE, but he was a great heel in WWE & his role in TNA has been pretty badass... He has done a lot out of love for the business...

only 2 times when ive liked jarrett was when he was doing his country singer gimmick in the wwf days and then when he was trying to become a horseman and feuding/tagging with mongo.

Don't know why, but I've been a fan of his for a long time. Teaming with Owen likely had a lot to do with it.

Idk why Jarrett gets all the hate that he gets, much like Triple H. Whether anyone likes to admit it or not, he is forever destined and bound for the wrestling history books as one of the greatest. He comes from a traditional wrestling family, he was a multiple time champion in both WCW and TNA, he founded TNA Wrestling, and ran the company for a while.
All in all, personal opinions aside, from a strictly facts point of view, he is a wrestler who has had one of the biggest impacts on wrestling the past 20 years. I like Jarrett personally, idk. He's charismatic and just seems like an all around good guy. |

This caused TNA to be born in the end. Actually, if you think back, Steve Austin inadvertantly (sp?) caused TNA to be born. He refused to work a program with Jarrett in WWE for the title, so Jarrett left for WCW, Russo went with him, WCW died, he was humiliated on TV by McMahon, and subsequently formed TNA. The rest is history.

Wasn't that keen on Jeff Jarrett, he was a great heel, never seen him as a face, nearly every match he had was soooo repetitive. still kudos for the guy for forming TNA.

Jarrett needs to turn heel and break guitars on everyone in TNA, including Dixie Carter.
