The skirmish game is sweet. You have to do like 5 objectives, each objective completion is timed, then the opposite team has to beat your time. Its like a sweet objective gauntlet.

It really is a freakin fun game. Im enjoying it WITHOUT a group of buddies, i could only imagine with.

It is a perfect marriage between BC and MW, and will definitely make me retire MW2

Amazon ran out of Beta codes so I canceled my order through there and bought it from the EA store. I have the beta now but I don't see a place to cancel my order.

E.A. removes ability to play as the Taliban in both multiplayer and campaign modes.

The change is only in name since EA didn't remove or change the appearance of the characters but now they get called "Opposing Forces".

EA is saying the change was due to soldiers and families of fallen solders being upset but other reports are hinting it was also to prevent the public relations mess Modern Warfare 2 dealt with from the "No Russian" mission.

Update on the name change for the Taliban news:

It turns out EA most likely changed the name of the terrorist faction due to possibility of loosing US Army support and licensing for the Medal of Honor series. The choice would have been to cancel the game and then make a completely different game or drop the Taliban from the game as playable characters.

Had the military pulled their endorsement from the series, it would have ended future games in the Medal of Honor series since the series has very close ties to the MoH society which is tied to the US military.

Biggest problem was EA (like Konami with their Six Days game) didn't inform the US military or the MoH society about playing as the Taliban until the game was almost completed.

Picking this up in a few hours! Anyone else picking this up? I really enjoy Bad Company 2 and MW2 but I find DICE to make more team oriented games that ultimately feel more rewarding to me.

I think for this game they need to release a map pack sooner rather than later. Bad Company 2 Map Packs were not even real map packs...

E.A. placed a huge embargo on review scores for this game with only 3 reviews being released before Tuesday (8.7, 8.5, 7.7) but only 1 was official (8.5).

Rest won't appear till around 9am Eastern time (6am Pacific).

I think a good marketing strategy would be maybe 2 maps...for free. Stand behind your game; show people you will come out with content sooner rather than later and will keep the content coming because honestly they are pretty light on the quantity although imo the quality is there.
