So, following NXT Season 2...

I found it interesting that the WWE had the previously eliminated rookies all lay waste to Kaval in the main event segment. Instead of ending it on a happy note, they've left it on this sort of bitter cliffhanger. Was it just a random thing the WWE did to put over the guys who had been part of the season before they go down to FCW, or is this part of a grander plan?

Yeah, I know this will get a lot of criticisism for even bringing it up, but with Nexus down to just five members, could you see Michael McGillicutty, Alex Riley, Husky Harris, Percy Watson, Lucky Cannon, Eli Cottonwood & Titus O'Neil joining their ranks? At least temporarily until they start "weeding" again? That'd be 12 guys, and while that might be considered "too big," it is only four more than the original Nexus concept consisted of.

I could sort of see how it could create a stir. Next week, they do a random main event featuring the guys in the Six-Pack Challenge -- let's say Sheamus & Wade Barrett vs. John Cena & Randy Orton vs. Edge & Chris Jericho. The result doesn't really matter, but at the end of the match, the Nexus comes down and they beat-down the exhausted competitors (Sheamus can high-tail it). Then, out of the crowd come the NXT 2 guys. They stand-off against Barrett and his men, and then Barrett and McGillicutty smile and hug, and the other members shake hands as the fans are pissed. The beat-down continues, with some of the NXT 2 guys showing off their finishing moves.

The next week, RAW opens with Nexus coming out to their theme, standing on the top of the stage looking like a small army, and then coming to the ring as Wade Barrett & Michael McGillicutty explain why they have joined forces.

Or there is the possibility we could get a Nexus vs. Genesis feud down the line, with McGillicutty starting up his own super-group consisting of the eliminated NXT 2 guys.

I know neither of these ideas may be popular, but let's say you worked for the WWE, and Vince McMahon, for whatever reason, left the decision up to you -- one super-group or a second NXT-born faction -- which would you choose?

Pfft

Maybe the Season 2 guys will go to Smackdown, and do what Nexus is doing on Raw?

I'd rather some of them joined the Nexus and some of em broke out on their own or team up with Bryan Danielsson somehow or go to SD but not as a stable then again there is the potential for a big stable and call them Genexus since hybrid names are the in thing.

Team up with Nexus. But have Barrett cut a promo about how they're goin to smackdown. Or have a Nexus vs Genesis @ Survivor Series.

The thing was so disorderly and poorly done on Tuesday night that I'm not even sure whether or not they were supposed to be a stable. Not only did everybody look confused but you obviously had Riley attack Watson only for Watson to come back in as if nothing happened, and Cottonwood just totally fucked off early on.

That being said, I think the Nexus could use the extra bodies. Make them look like a really huge threat by having that many guys.

I could see Kaval coming out during a Daniel Bryan/Miz promo on Monday and informing them that Kaval is gonna work his way to the top and it starts with the US Title. Whoever wins their match at NOC (assuming it's booked on Monday) will face Kaval at the next PPV. Cue the other Season 2 guys coming in and destroying Bryan and Kaval (Miz escapes due to being a chickenshit heel) - they can merge with Nexus later on

i like the idea but I feel only a few season 2 rookies should be merged with the current Nexus. Hennig and Harris should definately be added. I think Percy Watson would do better on his own or teaming with Young again, and Riley can ride Miz' coattails for a while before being let loose on his own.

I would definitely like to see Harris and Hennig added to Nexus (just keep Hennig away from the mic). The other guys are too green and should have to watch that shit of an ending until it's burned into their brains to never do something that poor again. Especially Riley who truly might be functionally retarded.

"Watching the end of show attack by the 5 previously eliminated NXT Rookies reinforced why most of them were eliminated to begin with. Ugh.”

Thank you Joey Styles.

For whatever it's worth, they taped 3 episodes of FCW TV this past Thursday. All of the Season 2 guys fought and there were no signs of them being a stable, and in some cases they even wrestled each other.

On the flipside, after the Nexus made their first attack, all 8 guys showed up and destroyed the FCW ring that week.

Yeah, it was sloppy. A lot of the guys aren't exactly ready for TV. Titus O'Neil and Eli Cottonwood come to mind. But neither is David Otunga. This sort of role can help their development and get their names out there without really putting too much on them.

Nexus would gain some better talkers, as Alex Riley and Percy Watson are marvelous on the mic, and Michael McGillicutty is quite capable. Husky Harris and Lucky Cannon are decent talkers, too. In the ring, McGillicutty would be right up there, and could lend some crediblity to the group.

Considering they didn't even show the beat down during the NXT Rewind on Superstars, I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the whole thing.
