DISCUSSION - Should Lita (turn heel?) and hook back up with Matt Hardy?

As was reported on the newsboard here (I'll provide link later), the WWE is considering turning Matt Hardy face. I hate to say "I told ya so", but I did argue that the WWE should have capitalized on Matt's face pop when he first debuted on Raw (he was way over when he first came out).

Anyways - here is what I propose.

A few weeks from now, Matt is fighting someone. Lita then comes out. To everyone's surprise, she costs Matt's opponent the match and then embraces Matt afterwards.

One of two things happen due to their re-unification

a)Lita turns heel

b)Matt turns face


With Jericho and Trish on the verge of hooking up together again (as faces), Matt and Lita could be suitable heel opponents......???

Personally - I think both Lita and Matt will benefit in getting back together. Both are fairly angleless right now anyways. Lita will also help Matt 'stay over' and 'stay on TV'.

I doubt the fans would buy Lita as a heel.

All they really have to do is give Matt some damn TV time.

OUCH...that's a bit far even if you don't like her.

I'm by far NOT the biggest Lita supporter, but I do say she's improved some since her come back. I see more moves per match from her, which I like.

Lita's association with Matt
Basically - Lita comes out and "low-blows" Matt's opponent (causing Matt to win). Lita and Matt embrace afterwards.

After this (in the weeks following), the fans decide whether Matt and Lita are faces or heels

I agree that the fans won't accept Lita as a heel (which means that Matt will naturally turn face).

Basically - Lita going back with Matt will ensure him to be on television.

Think back a few years to 'Latino Heat' (Eddie and Chyna). Chyna initially joined Eddie by turning on Chris Jericho. A week or so later however (if memory serves me correctly), Eddie and Chyna were faces........due to the fans WANTING them to be face.

Could the same thing happen here? Anyone see a parallel?

Yeah I would think it would be difficult to keep Lita a heel for very long. Perhaps the way to go is once Trish and Jericho make up (assuming that happens), you could have Matt try to win back Lita and lead to the two of them getting hitched on TV.

Well, it did take Chyna and Eddie a little more than a week, but your point basically remains valid.

Sounds good...Perhaps Christian can continue his harrassment of Lita, and then Matt (finally) realizes that he cares more about Lita then he thought (and comes to her aid).

The thing I like about my scenerio, is that the fans will be intrigued about Lita getting back together with Matt. Yes Matt publically embarrassed her, but Lita is sticking with her man. Lita can play a heelish role with Matt, but the fans will cheer her anyways due to her loyalty. Even some other wrestlers who Matt faces, will be reluctant to strike Lita when she interferes.

In the long run, the fans can continue to cheer Lita (which results in Matt turning face) or they can accept Lita as a heel.


The only thing I dislike about Matt trying to re-unite with Lita, is that it takes away from his selfish "mattitude" personna. In a way, it takes away Matt's 'edge'......kind of makes him look like a pussy.

Also - it would resemble the Jericho/Trish storyline a little too much.

In a way - the Lita/Matt storyline could be the inverse of Jericho/Trish.

Yeah, but she's doing this on her own accord. And when questioned about it, she like snaps on the interviewers, only to continue to be Matt's biotch. It's the only way I can think of to make this thing work to my liking.

Whelp......Another week went by with no appearance from Matt Hardy. Wasn't the whole purpose of him defecting to Raw was so that he could begin new programs?

Like I said before - hook him back up with Lita. This will keep Matt Hardy over, and will also ensure him getting TV time.

Oh, he was on, but on HeAt, making Dreamer job to him...

It's the WWE, they aren't going to give him that much air-time since he isn't as "eXtreme" as Jeff was..
