"Modding" your Xbox 360
I am sure there has been a thread about this already but I dunno.

Can I do this myself? Is it easy? Does it require "soldering" or anything like that which I will never do?

Can I still use Xbox Live and everything? ne other downsides?

Give me some info please, or just link me to any old threads with all of this info

you gotta keep up with it because m$ (lol) has ban waves every year. you'll be on top of things at the beginning, but your enthusiasm will fade over time and you'll then get your slap on the ass

Just be sure to flash it to stock firmware before accepting any dashboard updates. I only recommend modding it if you play the shit outta video. If you just play a game or two per year, there is no point

You will get banned with carelessness, especially if you promote a modded X box with your name. A lot of idiots add colour or make a gamertag thats offensive and people start to report it. If you dont mess with your name its harder for them to detect a modded x box. Its a little differnt than a modded controller, a controller is undetectable and harder to prove its modded, who knows you may have a fast trigger finger. I have a couple friends with modded X boxs. Also if it breaks its done, you cant send it in to get fixed.

2nd hand 360s are like the price of a new game over here now, so it's pretty easy to just grab a new console a year for the benefits that you get.

I did actually go legit with my last console, but I got pissed off being treated like a pirate for 2nd hand games, I thought fuck it.

Just gonna x-clamp fix some old 360s and mod them up now.

i wanna get mine modded cause i don't even play online so it's no big deal. plus that way i could rent games from blockbuster and not have to buy all of them, which i can't afford at all right now.
