Rick Rude had a distinct character, knew it very well, and knew that he be could absolutely obnoxious with it if he did it right. And he was, it worked perfectly. He had an incredible look and was more than solid in the ring. His feud with Ultimate Warrior was pretty incredible because he managed to pull this great, deep, classic feud out of a guy who didn't really want to do anything except for wrestle squashes.

But...

Jake Roberts was a master of ring psychology, mind fuckery, and crowd manipulation that doesn't really get his fair shake in history IMO. He definitely did alot more with less I'd say than Rude. He wasn't a ridiculously looking body builder, he didn't do any experimental moves, he didn't go to the "high rent district"... but you just couldn't help but want to watch the guy. His charisma was off the fucking charts and he always knew exactly what to do to get the crowd eating out of his hand.

Taking Snake in this one.

Great match-up. I chose Rude simply because I thought he was a far superior wrestler in the ring. Both were great characters and both were great in their prime. Two of the best guys in WWE history. Ravishing Rick Rude deserved a title run at some point. The other two I felt deserved title runs are Mr. Perfect and Razor Ramon. I just hate how the Miz is champion but those three guys never held the title. Only Rude held the WCW Title at least I think he did I know he held the WCW Interenational Title.

This needs to be a tie like WrestleMania IV. I have voted for Rude because he's the defending champion and I say the tie goes to the champion.

I never saw this guys in there prime but based on old WWF I watched on VHS tapes and on YouTube, Jake Roberts had amazing promos better than 90% of the WWE guys today so I vote for him!

Does anyone else think Jake would have been a better gimmick without the actual snake? He's got all these promos but at the end of the day he's just going to try to throw a snake in the ring. No snake probably wouldn't have been as over though.

Jake Roberts. I liked his character more. Master of psychology and could wrestle a decent style to back it up. Not that Rude was terrible, it was VERY close for me...but Roberts gets it based on his Promos.

Rude was awesome and better than a lot, but he couldn't get into your head like Jake, and he comes up just a tiny bit short of Jake in ring work.
