Lappy is being a tit

So I have a Asus X58L Laptop running Windows Vista. but it's like every time I play music it seems to damn lag my lappy and will either freeze for a while or just totally freeze the laptop. Can anyone suggest anything?

Try a different media player and see if it does the same thing. If it still does it then it's probably a bigger issue.

It could possibly be your audio drivers.

Cheers guy's I've tried using media player and vlc and it still lags, but for some reason when I put in headphones and external pc speakers it runs fine... or even when I play it at half volume. it just seems to be when running at full wack.
