He's right though. The Giants lost Kevin Boss in FA, another TE retired. Travis Beckum is pretty much a big ? and the "backup" TE is also the starting FB.

Furthermore, they lost one reserve CB for the year and Prince broke his foot.

It's the kind of thing where if this becomes a trend they won't even hit the ground running.

Hmmm well if te make the Super bowl I'd imagine he would be back regardless. I don't know about anything else though.

By this time tomorrow night I'll either be feeling good about the Ravens or I'll be wanting to go jump off a cliff somewhere. Probably the later the way things have gone so far. Right now for instance Tyrod Taylor is the Ravens backup QB given Bulger retired.
At least there will be chatter tomorrow night about him owning VT QB records where Vick played there a decade ago.

Wow...stunned right now. Honestly don't know how much Smith will contribute this year, but still. I just read today that Smith and his agent were telling teams that he was only interested in returning to the Giants. I hope it turns out the Giants weren't confident about his knee rather than Smith fucking them off on his own.

Guess the Eagles didn't get the memo that buying a championship in the NFL is very, very hard to do.

Flacco hasn't missed a game yet in his career, but it would be nice to have a veteran backup QB. Smith heeling it up on Facebook, saying the Eagles organization wanted him much more than the Giants. And that the Giants insulted him by not matching Philly's offer of $4 million for a guy with one knee. This despite him saying he only wanted to sign with and play for the Giants not even a day earlier.

What a phony. If a Giant takes him out at the knee this year, it might be the first time an injury actually makes me smile.

I'm hearing great things from Colts training camp.

Ernie Sims has everyone buzzing. Apparently he's been lighting people up when in pads. Could be a major FA steal for the Colts.

Also heard the Colts 1st round pick, Anthony Costanzo ( left tckle) has been going one on one with Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis. And the word is that he's holding his own very nicely. He might start.

Gabbert is starting tonight in New England. Not to sure how to feel about this. Hope he does well considering McCown and Bouman are the back ups. I seriously don't see Bouman making the team, especially since we've cut him 3 times over the last 4 years already.

I haven't really been paying attention to be honest with you. They're playing musical chairs with the offensive line, although a lot of people think that the draft fixed many of those problems. Many people think that Sean Lee, the draft pick from last year, will be a star at linebacker.

New rule - all scoring plays will have replays initiated by the booth and not the coach so no challenges will have to be used on plays that are called a Touchdown (though if its ruled not a touchdown but the coach thinks it was they will have to use it). My guess is this will mean that a lot of the marginally close calls in the endzone will be ruled touchdowns and left to replay to confirm or not.

And the secondary is real suspect. They didn't add anybody.. Elam, a solid tackler but thats about it.

I hope Victor Butler gets more playing time, he seems to make plays every time he's out there.

Love that there was a kickoff return for a touchdown last night despite kickoffs being moved 5 yards in.

Dumb rule. Limiting the blocking/formations on those plays is fine, but moving it 5 yards in solely to try and cause more touchbacks sucks. I don't care if there are injuries - it's one of the most exciting plays of the game.
