Funk. Son of a great technician who adopted and helped pioneer the hardcore style. Not afraid to do anything and he hits like a mid-sized SUV.

Funk was the NWA World Heavyweight Champion when it meant something. Funk wins.

Haven't seen much of Funk.
First time I saw him was during his acclaimed run as Chainsaw Charlie. |

Funk may have been one of the pioneers of hardcore wrestling but Mick Foley simply did it better and he adapted to mainstream better too.

its no secret im not a foley fan. but even if i was Funk would win here. funk could do hardcore as well as anyone funk cut some of the best promos ever cut by a man and funk could do something foley never could do: work. funk turned to hardcore after his body crapped out. foley never had it to begin with.

Tough choice since both wrestled a similar style and at multiple companies.
Went with Foley mostly due to Funk tended to only last about 1-2 years in the main promotions post-NWA years while Foley managed to have decent to great careers in those same promotions (ECW, WCW, WWF/E). Funk had the longevity and help in making ECW become good post-NWA split while Foley had the better career in the bigger promotions and made the wrestling style he shared with Funk be a lot more popular than Funk could in those same companies. |

My vote goes to Foley, but props to Funk for doing what he has done for as long as he has (I assume he still hasn't properly retired yet, haven't checked).

definitely gotta go with Terry Funk
this one isn't even close for me Funk can pretty much do fucking everything in and out of the ring Funk's promo skills far surpass Foley's I love his feud with Jerry Lawler in Memphis that resulted in the famous empty arena match |

I can't vote for this one. I haven't even read this thread yet. Just the challenge.
Terry Funk has long tradtion of being really good at work rate. Look at his really early work and you will find him taking Flair and Jerry on as a main heel. He did a really good job at things like this. He even was a foil to Dust. Then he his body got fucked up. Then he helped Foley through the KOTDM. The one FMW event you've scene is him with Mr. Pogo Vs. Hayabusa and Tanaka in an exploding everything match. But like I said, there is him versus Foley in the KOTDM. He would retire Pogo for awhile. Foley would fight on that same card in what we think of in a Spider Net Deathmatch. They both have two big name fights. Funk was in the best NRBW match of all time. Him VS. Sabu. Foley lost his ear and was good at promos. Foley going of the cell. You can't have one with out the other. If you look at national shit and take the whole body of work, Foley wins. But there wouldnt be Foley if there wasn't Funk. |

I definitely respect the hell out of Terry Funk, but I think Foley was better at getting people to care for him and entertained me more

Funk. I mean he is a true legend of wrestling, from the old NWA days to the glory days of the 80's and even Ric Flair's prime with some of the greatest moments and matches of all time under his belt. His promo's are insane, awesome, and real just like his matches.
The Japanese stuff is amazing, just awesome. Funk FOREVER |
