Star Wars Book Recommendations
I recently for some reason have been wanting to read some Star Wars books. My only problem is that I have no idea where to begin.
I was wondering if you could recommend a few books or series. I dont really care where in the timeline it is as long as its a good book that will keep me interested. Someone already mentioned to me the "Fate of the Jedi" series and I ordered book 1 yesterday. I just need some more ideas. |

I rather enjoy Tales of the Bounty Hunter myself. It's worth a good read.

Fate of the Jedi is kind of a horrible place to start, tbh. It is the current series, and there are tons of things that precede it.
The 3 major book series (New Jedi Order, Legacy of the Jedi, Fate of the Jedi) are best read in order. I would put this Fate of the Jedi book on the shelf, and start with New Jedi Order: Vector Prime. You don't necessarily have to read any of the other books or trilogies before New Jedi Order to get what happens in those but it would enhance the story for you. Other books that I reccomend: Darth Bane Trilogy Thrawn Trilogy Rise of Darth Vader Darth Plagueis Shadows of the Empire Tatooine Ghost Tales of the Bounty Hunters Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy Death Troopers Red Harvest |

I haven't read any Star Wars novels since the late 90's/early 2000's, but I have loads in my mums attic in England.
The only ones I can remember off the top of my head that were good reads: The Thrawn Trilogy (pretty much essential reading for SW novel collectors) The Jedi Academy Trilogy Shadows of the Empire The Courtship of Princess Leia The New Rebellion The first few Rogue Squadron books I remember being pretty cool, but I got pretty bored with the series after the first few books. |

I downloaded a big mega-torrent of Star Wars e-books a few years ago when I felt the need to read more. Read the first book in the torrent, and that is about it. I should go back. Don't really like reading on my computer screen, though.

Pretty much all the "Tales" are worth reading. I loved the Bounty Hunter Wars series as well. And Shadows of the Empire. And as others said, the Thrawn Trilogy is essential.

Yeah, Shadows of the Empire and the Thrawn Trilogy were pretty awesome. The Zombie Star Wars book was pretty underwhelming however.

Tales from the Star Wars Cantina. They are some interesting stories that tie into the Cantina scene in a New Hope.
The novelizations of the movies are also pretty good. I enjoyed the books of Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones more than the movies. The Rise of Darth Vader. It came out a little bit after Episode 3. It's a pretty good tie in to the new set of movies and the classic ones. They aren't books but I also recommend the Star Wars Radio dramatizations. |

The only Star Wars books that are of quality, through and through, and are can be enjoyed by all in every way Star Wars deserves are the Thrawn Trilogy and Shadows of the Empire.

I think the only Star Wars books I have physically read were the Young Jedi Knights series, when I was a "teen". Thought they were pretty "rad".

Shadows of the Empire is amazing.
I'm still waiting for Lucasfilm to make a "gritty" cartoon-movie version of that story. It's just too good to let slip away, and I believe the Outrider was put into one of the new movies or the re-releases as "recognition" that Dash Rendar and that universe exists. |

Well, it's not a book, but the new Clone Wars show has been fantastic. Saw the season 5 trailer and it blew me away.
